Port Blair: In a remarkable display of patriotism and innovation, India has secured a place in the Guinness World Records by unfurling the largest national flag underwater at the world-renowned Radhanagar Beach. The monumental feat, carried out in the crystal-clear waters of the Andaman Islands, has captured global attention for its scale, precision, and symbolic significance.

The huge Indian tricolour, measuring an impressive 60 metres by 40 metres, was carefully deployed beneath the turquoise waters, creating a breathtaking underwater spectacle. Set against the pristine backdrop of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the flag appeared to sway gracefully with the ocean currents, offering a powerful visual representation of national pride.

Often ranked among Asia’s most beautiful beaches, Radhanagar Beach provided an ideal setting for the record attempt. The initiative not only showcased India’s ability to execute complex, large-scale operations in unique environments but also highlighted the region’s immense potential for eco-tourism and adventure sports. Organisers noted that the effort required meticulous planning, coordination, and adherence to environmental safeguards to preserve the fragile marine ecosystem.

Participants and officials involved in the event described the moment as deeply emotional, as the saffron, white, and green hues of the tricolour came alive beneath the sea. The record-breaking achievement is being seen as more than just a symbolic act—it underscores India’s growing engagement with its maritime heritage and commitment to promoting lesser-explored destinations.

With this milestone, India not only celebrates its national identity but also sends a strong message about innovation, unity, and environmental consciousness.
