New Delhi: Marking the first anniversary of the horrific Pahalgam terror attack, diplomatic missions and foreign envoys across India paid tribute to the victims and reiterated their solidarity with India in the global fight against terrorism. The country has been observing one year since the deadly attack in Pahalgam, where Pakistan-backed terrorists brutally gunned down 26 innocent tourists after identifying their religion, making it one of the most heinous assaults on civilians in recent years.

Among those who expressed condolences was Sergio Gor, the United States ambassador to India, who said, “On the one-year anniversary of the horrific Pahalgam terror attack, we remember the innocent victims and honour their memory as we mourn with their families. The United States stands with the people of India in their fight against terrorism.” Philip Green, Australia’s High Commissioner to India. Taking to X, he wrote, “One year on, we join our Indian friends & colleagues to remember the innocent lives lost in the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam. We honour the victims & their families who continue to grieve today. Australia stands against terrorism in all its forms.” His message reflected Australia’s continued support for India and its firm stance against terrorism.

The British High Commission also condemned terrorism unequivocally and reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to ensuring peace and security through international cooperation. In its statement on X, the mission said, “Today, we mark one year since the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam. We pay our respects to the victims, and our thoughts remain with everyone affected. The UK condemns terrorism in all its forms. We remain committed to working with partners to secure peace and security.”

The embassy emphasised France’s unwavering dedication to combating terrorism alongside its international partners.

In addition, Gideon Sa’ar, Israel’s Foreign Minister, paid homage to those who lost their lives in the attack and conveyed support for their grieving families. In his statement on X, he said, “On behalf of the State of Israel, one year to the Pahalgam terror attack, we honour the memory of the innocent lives lost and stand with their families in grief.”
