Nashik TCS Case: Islamist told Hindu woman, “Your husband is not here; If you have physical needs, will fulfil them”

The Nashik TCS BPO case has sent shockwaves across the country, not merely because of the allegations, but because of the corporate setting in which they unfolded. Multiple testimonies now point towards a disturbing pattern of harassment, sexual exploitation, coercion, and alleged attempts at religious manipulation within the workplace

The Nashik TCS case has emerged as one of the most alarming corporate Jihad controversies in recent times, raising serious concerns about employee safety, workplace ethics, and the possibility of organised religious targeting within a reputed corporate environment. While similar allegations have surfaced in isolated incidents in the past, what makes this case particularly disturbing is the setting, a corporate office employing educated professionals, making the nature of these accusations even more unexpected and deeply concerning.

A series of testimonies from multiple victims have brought forth allegations ranging from harassment and sexual abuse to sexual exploitation, coercion, and alleged attempts to lure employees towards Islam. The consistency and similarity in these testimonies have led investigators to examine the matter not as isolated incidents but as a potential pattern.

This report focuses on the testimony of one such victim, Shruti Nagare (name changed, surname retained), a Business Process Associate working at the TCS office in Nashik.

Based on her complaint, FIR Number: 168/2026 was registered at the Mumbai Naka Police Station on April 2 under Sections 74, 75, 79, 302, 299, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused named in the FIR include Shahrukh Sheikh, Raza Memon, Asif Ansari, Tausif Attar, and Shafi Sheikh.

In her complaint, Shruti detailed her experience at the workplace, beginning with her joining the company. She stated, “I have been working as an Associate since 20/06/2025 after my marriage. My husband lives in Pune for work.”

She further explained the initial phase of her employment: “From 24/06/2025, I joined TCS Nashik and started a three-month training. During the training, Shahrukh Qureshi and Jayesh Gunjal were involved. During this period, Raza Menon, who had no role in my training, repeatedly came into the training room and asked me about my personal life, how I manage everything when my husband is away, whether I feel worried, and told me to inform her if anything happened.”

The questioning, however, soon became deeply personal and uncomfortable. She stated, “It had been only a month since I got married. Raza Menon would say, ‘You have just got married, where did you go for honeymoon, what did you do, how did you do it?’ At that time, Shahrukh Qureshi was also present and was encouraging such conversations.”

She added, “Shahrukh asked me whether it was an arranged marriage or a love marriage. Then Raza Memon said, ‘If you are not happy with your husband, tell me, we will tell you what to do and how to do it. If you had many boyfriends, how did you manage to leave them? If you still have boyfriends, what will happen if your mother-in-law tells your husband everything?’ They started calling me ‘Player’. Whenever I came to the office, they would say, ‘Player, what’s going on?’”

She further stated that even work-related interactions were laced with such remarks. “If I had any problem regarding work, I would tell Shahrukh, and he would inform Raza. Then Raza would come to me and say, ‘Player, can’t you do it? If not, tell me.’ He would also say things like, ‘Isn’t your husband coming? Even though you are newly married, how can he leave you? If I were in his place, I would not have left you and gone anywhere.’”

After completing her training, Shruti began her On-Job Training (OJT) in September 2025 and subsequently moved into a regular role. It was during this period that the alleged physical harassment began.

She stated, “Asif Ansari would often come and sit next to me even when there was no space. He would try to get close to me, touch my body, and hold my hand. Sometimes he would put his hand on my thigh or shoulder. Once, he touched my stomach and waist and said that I have a zero figure.”

Statement in the FIR as accessed by Organiser

She further alleged, “Once, when I was standing in the outer passage, Asif Ansari suddenly came and hugged me tightly in an obscene manner. I pushed him away and left.”

The harassment, according to her, became frequent and explicit. “Every day, he would come near me without any reason and make obscene gestures. He would ask me what size I was wearing inside. He used dirty language and said, ‘If you get a chance, you will do it with someone. Do you like me? I like you.’”

She added, “Asif always told me, ‘You do not like me, I am better than your husband. Come out with me. Your husband is not here, even if something happens, no one will know, but you should not tell anyone.’”

The complainant further stated, “During lunch time, he would sit next to me and put his hand on my lap. He would say, ‘Just like you cook food for your husband, cook for me also. You did not have a boyfriend before marriage, so what is the problem with having one now? If you have any physical needs, tell me, I will fulfill them.’”

She also recalled an incident during Diwali: “He told me, ‘Since it is Diwali, come in a saree. I want to see how hot and sexy you look.’”

Despite her resistance, the behaviour allegedly continued. “I told him angrily that I do not like such things and asked him not to come near me.”

She further added that even on social media, he continued to pursue her. “When Asif followed me on Instagram, I unfollowed him. He asked how he could contact me. I told him to talk in the office only. He followed me on LinkedIn as well and sent messages, which I ignored.”

Statement in the FIR as accessed by Organiser

She also alleged that her religious sentiments were targeted. “Asif Ansari told me that in your religion, people get raped because they do not wear burqa. Your gods walk around naked, how can you like your gods?”

On the occasion of Makar Sankranti in January 2026, she stated, “While I was wearing a saree at work, Asif said, ‘Your blouse design is beautiful; if the lace is removed, the whole show will be visible.’ I ignored him.”

She further alleged misconduct by another accused, Tausif Attar. “Even though he was not from my team, he would come to my desk daily, ask me to eat something, and speak in an obscene manner, saying, ‘Have you brought oranges? Did you bring small ones or big ones?’ He would come very close to me, bring his face near mine, and touch my body.”

She added, “He told me that I had done engineering and should go ahead, and that he would teach me dialer work. When I went with him after my shift, he would put his cheek on mine, put his hand on my shoulder, and touch my arm and thigh. When I questioned him, he said, ‘Do you want to go ahead? Don’t you like my teaching?’”

Another disturbing incident was reported on Gudi Padwa in March 2026. “I had come wearing a saree. While I was in the lobby, I felt my pallu being pulled. When I turned around, Raza Memon was holding it. He looked at me in a dirty way and smiled.”

She further stated, “Later, Tausif came near me, circled around me, and said, ‘Your husband married you because you look very beautiful. He knows what kind of person you are.’ After some time, Asif came and said, ‘Now I will also see what is good.’ Shafi Sheikh also circled around me multiple times and looked at me in a dirty manner.”

Summarising her ordeal, she stated, “Between June 2025 and March 2026, while working at TCS, Shahrukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, Asif Ansari, Tausif Attar, and Shafi Sheikh followed me, made obscene remarks, touched me inappropriately, and looked at me with an obscene gaze. They also hurt my religious sentiments by using abusive words about Hindu gods. Therefore, I have filed a legal complaint against them.”

What initially appeared as isolated complaints has now expanded into a larger case, with nine FIRs registered between March 26 and April 3.

Maharashtra Police have so far arrested several accused individuals, including Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, Asif Ansari, Shafi Sheikh, and Ashwini Chanani. Nida Khan remains absconding.

Given the seriousness and pattern of allegations, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted. Officials have indicated that the matter is being treated as a potentially organised pattern of misconduct rather than isolated incidents.
