Bhubaneswar/Sambalpur: “An aware, active, and organised Hindu society is the solution to all of Bharat’s problems,” said Shri Ramlal, Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, while addressing a Pramukh Jana Sangosthi in Sambalpur. The event, organised by RSS Sambalpur Mahanagar at the Tapaswini Auditorium, was part of the ongoing ‘100 Years of Sangh’ series of programs, attracting prominent members of society. The program was presided over by Mahanagar Sanghchalak Shri Deepak Kumar Panda.
Recalling the uninterrupted 100-year journey of the Sangh, Ramlal elaborated on its working style and relevance to society. He highlighted the dedication of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, which inspired Indian society to unite.
During his address, he emphasized Dr Hedgewar’s principle of “One Life, One Mission.” He stated that Dr Hedgewar aimed to make Bharat independent and strong enough to ensure it would never fall into slavery again. In this context, he continued the work of Swami Vivekananda, whose primary objective was self-realization.
Drawing attention to the vast growth of the organisation that began as a small initiative by Dr Hedgewar, the speaker noted that today it has taken on a nationwide form. In its centenary year, the organization has connected with over 10 crore Hindu families.
Highlighting the comprehensive nature of the RSS, Ramlal stated that the Sangh stands for patriotism, discipline, pride in culture, a spirit of service, and respect. Since its inception, the Sangh has identified the weakening aspects of Indian society and envisioned creating an organized society, laying the foundation for a self-reliant organization.
He further noted that the Sangh is self-reliant and rooted in family traditions. The organization has achieved its current scale through the dedicated efforts of its workers, who have faced many challenges. He mentioned that the Sangh has been banned three times and has played a commendable role in the removal of the Emergency.
He pointed out that despite ideological differences, even strong critics of the Sangh, including the then Prime Minister, invited it to participate in the Delhi parade following the China war. He emphasized that during national calamities, the RSS has always stepped forward to help everyone, without discrimination based on religion or sect.
He stated that the Sangh has made significant sacrifices for the Ram Mandir, which symbolizes the self-respect and pride of Indian society. Emphasizing the principle of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah,” he asserted that a strong and influential Bharatwould contribute to global peace and harmony.
He cautioned that “Urban Naxals” and the “Tukde-Tukde Gang” are among the most dangerous elements threatening India’s future and called for vigilance. He stated that Hindutva ensures security and that Bharatworks not only for itself but for the welfare of the world. The strength of Bharatlies in its spirituality.
During the question-and-answer session at the end, Ramlal expressed his views on demographic changes and reiterated that an aware, organized, and active Hindu society is the solution to all of India’s problems. He emphasized that it is the duty of every citizen to think positively, speak positively, and act positively for the nation. Ending separatism and terrorism is India’s goal, and the Sangh is committed to achieving it.
Explaining the concept of “Panch Parivartan,” he stated that to make Bharata developed nation and a global leader, individuals must adopt five key practices in their lives. First, environmental protection through tree plantation, water conservation, and the elimination of plastic use. Second, family awareness through shared meals at least once a week, collective prayers, and annual family outings, along with the adoption of Indian values in lifestyle and language. Third, social harmony by eliminating caste-based discrimination and ensuring equal access to public spaces, such as temples, cremation grounds, and water bodies. Fourth, self-awareness through the promotion of Swadeshi and respect for the mother tongue, guided by the principle “Think globally, act locally.” Fifth, civic responsibility by respecting the Constitution and national symbols, following rules, and fulfilling duties as responsible citizens.
More than 200 distinguished individuals, including intellectuals, social workers, academicians, scientists, administrators, legal professionals, artists, and sportspersons from Sambalpur, participated in the program. The proceedings were conducted by Mahanagar Prachar Pramukh Gyana Ranjan Panda, while Sampark Pramukh Ashish Pattanayak delivered the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the rendition of “Vande Mataram.” All Sangh karyakartas contributed to the successful organization and coordination of the event.
