Telangana: BJP workers attacked in Chandur Municipality, Nalgonda; Ramchander Rao alleges ‘Goonda Raj’ under congress

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, BJP Telangana State President N Ramchander Rao alleged that democracy was murdered under Congress’ anarchic rule in Telangana.

He was speaking to the media on March 18 at Nalgonda after visiting a government hospital where he met BJP workers who were injured in a brutal attack by alleged Congress goons.

Rao assured, “BJP workers need not fear, and the party stands firmly behind you.” He warned Congress leaders that if attacks continued, there would be strong resistance. “We will not rest until the culprits are punished and sent to jail.”

Giving details of the attack, the BJP state chief said six BJP workers sustained serious injuries when they were attacked by Congress leaders and their followers in Chandur municipality on March 15. Four of the injured were undergoing treatment in the hospital. These attacks were carried out with political malice against Kiran, who previously contested on a BJP ticket in Chandur Municipality, and were instigated by the local MLA. It is despicable that they even tried to block the victims from receiving timely medical treatment, he said.

Stating that doctors belong to a noble profession, he urged them not to succumb to the pressure of Congress leaders and to provide proper medical care to the victims.

Rao said that despite the severity of the incident, the police failed to book the culprits under stringent sections; instead, cases were filed with only minor sections. He alleged that the police booked counter-cases against BJP victims, which proves that the police system is operating under the pressure of the Congress party.

The BJP state chief alleged that Congress leaders are freely engaging in land grabbing, drug trafficking, and operating illegal liquor and belt shops.

Rao said democracy has vanished in the state and has been replaced by “Goonda Raj”. In several regions like Peddapalli, Mancherial, and Nalgonda, police are behaving like Congress workers and attempting to suppress BJP leaders. The physical assault on BJP District President Nagam Varshit Reddy by a DSP during the municipal elections is highly condemnable.
