Tamil Nadu: At Thiruvannamalai meet, Hindu organisations urge voters to back parties that accept key demands of Hindus

A conference organised by the Poojaries Federation in Thiruvannamalai brought together religious leaders and representatives of Hindu organisations to discuss issues related to temple administration and the welfare of temple priests in Tamil Nadu. The gathering, attended by leaders associated with groups such as the Vishva Hindu Parishad, passed several resolutions calling for reforms in temple governance, improved financial support for priests, and the protection of temple properties

CHENNAI: A recent conference in Thiruavannamalai has made it categorically clear that political parties, or those who accept and give assurances to fulfil the demands of the majority Hindu, will get their votes in the coming elections. According to critics, it is a right and appropriate decision to counter minority appeasement measures of DMK in TN and Congress, SP, RJD in respect of Bharat. They knew the minorities were their only solid vote that would never change and vote for others.

In Thiruvannamalai, Poojaries Federation, a VHP outfit, held a conference entitled “retrieving rights of Hindus.” The president of the federation, Raja, Akhil Bharat Sadhus Sangh founder Ramananda Swamigal, VHI Dakshi Bharat joint general secretary Stanumalyan and Mannaguri seer Ramunja Chendalangara Jeer, among others, participated.

A large number of people attended the in Thiruavannamalai meet

The seer in his address said, “ HR and CE should protect the interest of the temple under its control and not destroy them. it is the duty of the HR and CE to implement and honour the court orders in the Thiruparankundram Karthigai Deepam lighting case. Instead, it went on appeal to stall the event and deny the rights of Hindus and also showed disrespect to the court by disobeying its orders on flimsy ground. Spending the same temple funds only to SC  to challenge  HC orders and get stay.  The HR and CE which should allow fee free and hazel free darshan of Bhagwan collects charges in the form tickets only discourage devotees visiting temples and only affordable to rich and influential ones. For poor devotees it is a distance dream. One leader wanted sana tana should destroyed like Malaria, Dengu.  The same has grown in good numbers and causing pricks and bites to Hindus.  we should also eradicate the Dengu, Malaria and Kosu  (referring DMK) by uniting under umbrella and show our might like minorities”.

Stanumalyan said, “Temples should be freed from government control. It should go out on its own without expecting a strong move or movement to do the same. saying everyone is equal before law whereas the government treating Hindus as second class citizens.  To destroy the sanatana and Hindu religion, world nations have been actively following conversion activities in Bharat.  Government extend reservation benefits to those who have converted to other religions. Only those who accept our demands would get our votes”.

The conference adopted 11 important resolutions. It demands Rs 5000 – pension for those who have attained 6 years and retired temple priests. Other resolutions passed in the meeting included “ the government amend and raise the annual income of Rs.72000 to be eligible to get government scheme benefits. The pension should be extended to their wives after their demise. Temple priests should be given a monthly gratuity of minimum Rs.10000, retrieval of temple properties from illegal occupation or encroachments.  Those who have faith in god, sana tana and spirituality should be appointed as temple trustees not political persons who publicly follow no god theory.  Temple income should be used only for it. Patta should be given to temple properties that are not managed by HR an CE and power connection to all Hindu temples. Stern action should be iniated against those who make hate speeches and denigrate Hindu traditions, worshipping customs and on deities. Appropriate legal amendment or an exclusive legislation should be brought in in this regard”.
