The situation in West Asia is extremely fluid as the conflict is escalating with no sign of de-escalation and restraint. The US-Israel axis face-off with Iran has triggered a cascading effect across the geopolitical landscape of West Asia. Iran has been unequivocally targeting the nations across the region including Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain etc., reflecting strategic absurdity.

As the nations across West Asia strive to protect national security and the safety of its civilians by consistently neutralising the intruding missiles and drones from Iran, Bahrain has arrested Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals who were illegally filming intruding Iranian drones and indulged in disinformation campaigns. The Interior Ministry of Bahrain asserted that the authorities have arrested five Pakistani national and one Bangladeshi national for filming, lauding and glorifying the Iranian drones and missiles attack on Bahrain.

The Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals apparently uploaded the video on various social media platforms and hailed the attacks by Tehran. As the videos went viral, this was indeed a threat to the national security of Bahrain. It also created panic and further anxiety among the citizens of Bahrain who are living under an atmosphere of constant threat, fear and uncertainty as an impact of all out conflict across West Asia.

The five Pakistani nationals who were arrested by the security officials of Bahrain include Afzal Khan, Mohammed Moaz Akbar, Ahmed Mumtaz, Arslan Ali Sajjad and Abdul Rahman Abdul Sattar. The Bangladeshi national arrested by Bahraini authorities has been identified as Mohamed Israfel Meer. The Anti-Cybercrime Directorate of Bahrain has arrested the people who were involved in disinformation campaigns and glorification of the enemy threats. The miscreants from Pakistan and Bangladesh also praised the Iranian attacks and expressed sympathy with Tehran.

Iranian attacks on Bahrain

As the war between the US-Israel axis and Iran spiralled into a larger regional conflict across West Asia, Tehran has targeted several facilities in Bahrain, leading to rupture of critical infrastructure and the injury or death of many innocent civilians. A critical desalination plant and a strategic oil refinery have been hit by the Iranian drones and missiles. Iran has also targeted the Fifth Fleet Base of the United States Navy. The attacks on Bahrain have been decoded as “blatant Iranian aggression”. The Iranian drones have also targeted many residential localities across Iran.

Bahrain has reported that they have successfully intercepted and neutralised more than 100 drones and 171 missiles emerging from Iran, since the conflict spilled out as a larger regional war, beyond Israel and Iran. The US Embassy in Bahrain has also issued advisory to its citizens to avoid unnecessary travel. Iranian drones have also struck the island of Sitra, near the capital city of Manama, thus wounding more than 30 people.
