Bhubansahar Kachari: A century-old Mandir in southern Bangladesh was attacked, and its murti vandalised in Patuakhali district, triggering concern among local residents and prompting a police investigation.

The incident took place at the Southineshwar Kali Mandir in Bauphal Upazila of Patuakhali around 9:30 pm on February 28. The Mandir is located in Bhubansahar Kachari under Ward No. 2 of Sadar Union.

According to Mandir authorities, a group of unidentified individuals entered the premises under the cover of darkness and carried out the vandalism. During the attack, a Kali murti inside the Mandir was damaged. The assailants fled the scene soon after the incident.

Local residents said the Mandir, which is over 100 years old, holds significant religious and cultural importance for the Hindu community in the area. The act of vandalism has caused distress among devotees and villagers, who described the incident as unfortunate and unexpected.
