LUCKNOW: In a major step toward digital transformation in policing, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired the Police Manthan 2025 conference, where a special presentation was held on the Smart SHO Dashboard, an advanced digital platform designed to streamline police station operations. The event brought together senior police officials from across the state to discuss technology-driven solutions for better crime management, investigation tracking, and public grievance redressal.
The Smart SHO Dashboard is a part of the state government’s broader mission to modernise policing infrastructure under the vision of “Smart Governance, Safe Uttar Pradesh.” It provides a single, integrated digital interface that enables SHOs to access comprehensive data on complaints, crimes, investigations, and staff performance. This real-time access will help police officers monitor progress, identify delays, and ensure timely action on pending cases.

By integrating multiple data points into a single platform, the dashboard minimises manual record-keeping and enhances operational efficiency. It enables supervisory officers to assess police station performance more effectively and take prompt action as needed. This system will also help identify emerging crime patterns and ensure more effective resource deployment to maintain law and order.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised the government’s commitment to leveraging modern technology to strengthen the law and order system and improve citizen services. He noted that new digital initiatives, such as the Smart SHO Dashboard, will ensure citizens receive faster responses to their complaints while enhancing police accountability at every level.
The conference also emphasised that with the Smart SHO Dashboard, the complaint resolution process will become faster and more transparent. The system will significantly reduce the number of pending investigations by allowing officers to track each stage digitally. Moreover, it will help maintain a digital record of staff performance, ensuring that commendable work is recognised and inefficiencies are addressed promptly.
Officials explained that this dashboard integrates with digital monitoring tools, providing SHOs and senior officers with an overview of all station-level activities, including crime trends, response times, and investigation updates, on a single screen. Such a system will enable better decision-making by leveraging real-time analytics to improve coordination between police units and enhance surveillance in crime-prone areas.
The Smart SHO Dashboard also aims to bring in data-driven accountability. Recording every action and update digitally ensures that responsibilities are clearly defined and that progress can be reviewed without delay. This will strengthen internal governance, reduce bureaucratic delays, and promote transparency in public dealings.
The initiative has been widely appreciated for aligning with the state’s vision of “Smart Policing” where technology supports officers in improving efficiency and public trust. The dashboard will not only simplify police administration but also encourage proactive law enforcement practices through digital insights.
