Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on October 24 inaugurated a water pipeline project at the Border Security Force (BSF) camp in Chhawla, West Delhi, and celebrated Bhai Dooj with BSF personnel. Established in 1982, the camp of the 25th Battalion of the BSF had long been without access to a piped water supply.

During her earlier visit to the camp on August 11 to participate in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ event, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had assured officials that the camp would soon receive a piped water supply.

Can you believe a camp of the 25th Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) was set up in 1982 in Delhi and it didn't get piped water supply since then

The newly inaugurated pipeline, which will connect to the Dwarka water treatment plant, is expected to enhance water availability not only for the BSF camp but also for nearby villages, Gupta said at the launch event. She also announced that the Delhi government would facilitate the installation of a synthetic track within the camp premises, following a request from BSF officials.

“Once I return, my first action will be to issue an order to provide a water connection to your camp. When I visit next, I’ll come with the work order in hand,” Gupta had said during her previous visit.

According to a statement from the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also celebrated the festival of Bhai Dooj with BSF personnel during her visit. On the occasion, she praised the soldiers guarding the nation’s borders, describing them as “the shield of our country,” and affirmed that ensuring their well-being is the government’s responsibility.

The statement added that, responding to the soldiers’ request, Gupta assured them that a synthetic track would soon be built within the camp premises.

The CMO further informed that the new water pipeline will run from the BSF camp to Phirni Road in Chhawla village and will be connected to the Dwarka Water Treatment Plant.
