NEW DELHI: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has released its manifesto for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections. The manifesto has been prepared after careful consideration of more than 5,000 suggestions received from students through various platforms.

This manifesto emphasizes issues related to education, security, health, sports, and employment, giving them top priority.

The press conference organized for the release of the manifesto was attended by ABVP’s National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, along with National Secretary Shivangi Kharwal, State Secretary Sarthak Sharma and the DUSU central panel candidates -Aryan Maan (President), Govind Tanwar (Vice President), Kunal Chaudhary (Secretary), and Deepika Jha (Joint Secretary).

Key Provisions of the Manifesto

The manifesto released by ABVP for the DUSU elections includes:

•Subsidized health insurance schemes for students.

•Increased budgets for registered academic, social, and cultural societies across colleges.

•Availability of adequate sports equipment and proper nutrition for students interested in sports.

•Accessibility audits to make campuses more inclusive for specially abled students.

•Free Wi-Fi access for university students.

•Construction of new hostels to accommodate growing student needs.

•Research facilities and student funds for final-year research scholars.

•Timely declaration of examination results within fixed deadlines.

•Promotion of East and West campuses in line with North and South campuses.

ABVP has pledged its commitment to ensuring the implementation of these measures through its leadership in DUSU.

Track Record of ABVP-led DUSU

In recent years, ABVP-led DUSU office bearers have introduced several initiatives and have worked relentlessly to deliver the same. Some of the several initiatives include:

•Launch of U-Special bus services for students.

•Approval for the construction of new women’s hostels.

•Land allocation and foundation-laying for a Student Activity Center.

•Organizing internship programmes.

•Strengthening women’s safety on campus and resolving core student issues.

•These efforts have reinforced students’ confidence in ABVP’s leadership.

Voices from the Leadership

Virendra Singh Solanki, National General Secretary, ABVP
“The ABVP manifesto highlights the real issues faced by students of Delhi University. It reflects our belief that students are not merely citizens of tomorrow but also active citizens of today. By prioritizing subsidized metro passes, provisions for specially-abled students, and women-centric measures, this manifesto demonstrates that ABVP-led DUSU is committed to working 365 days a year in the interest of students. In the coming days, ABVP will actively take these student-centric issues to the DU community during the campaign.”

Aryan Maan, Candidate for President
“ABVP’s capable leadership has always been trusted by students of Delhi University. This year, we are determined to ensure adequate sports facilities and nutrition, campus accessibility audits for specially abled students, and free Wi-Fi access across DU. With these initiatives, we aim to establish Delhi University as a premier global institution.”

Govind Tanwar, Candidate for Vice President
“What distinguishes ABVP from other student organizations is that we remain active on campus throughout the year, unlike those who are visible only during elections. This year, ABVP will focus on effective placement cells, job fairs, internship support, free AI tools certification programs, and entrepreneurship skill centers. With the strong trust of students, we are confident that ABVP will win all four panel seats.”

Kunal Chaudhary, Candidate for Secretary
“ABVP’s strong student leadership has consistently fostered a positive environment in Delhi University and worked tirelessly for women’s empowerment. This year, we will focus on subsidized health insurance, university health cards, open gyms in colleges, and the establishment of health and wellness societies. We are confident that students’ support will once again ensure ABVP’s victory across all central panel seats.”

Deepika Jha, Candidate for Joint Secretary
“Through continuous work for student welfare, ABVP has made a lasting impression on the DU student community. Our priorities include establishing women’s hostels in every college, installing pink booths and ensuring adequate women security personnel, providing sanitary pad vending machines, appointing permanent gynaecologists, setting up girls’ common rooms, organizing gender equality and self-defense training camps, and introducing scholarships for transgender students. With these initiatives, ABVP will continue to strengthen both the student community and the university’s inclusive image.”
