Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed his government’s commitment to transforming Chitrakoot into a vibrant hub of faith, safety, and self-reliance during his visit on the occasion of the 528th birth anniversary of Goswami Tulsidas. During the event, CM Yogi presented a forward-looking plan focused on restoring Chitrakoot’s spiritual heritage, enhancing its cultural significance, and boosting regional economic development. Describing Chitrakoot as the ‘karmabhoomi’ of Goswami Tulsidas, the CM said it was also closely associated with revered figures such as Maharishi Valmiki and Nanaji Deshmukh. He emphasised that the city’s deep spiritual legacy, where Lord Ram spent several years, will now be matched by modern infrastructure and growth initiatives.

Yogi Adityanath honoured Goswami Tulsidas by unveiling his statue at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra located in Ganivan. The celebrations also included the Tulsi Sahitya Sammelan at Tulsi Resort, which was graced by spiritual leaders like Sant Murari Bapu and Jagadguru Shri Rambhadracharya.

One of the major highlights of the CM’s address was the emphasis on infrastructure projects, which are aimed at boosting religious tourism and connectivity. The Ram Van Gaman Marg is being developed to help pilgrims easily visit places that are linked to Lord Ram’s journey during his exile. Along with this, the Bundelkhand Expressway will now connect Chitrakoot to big cities and important religious spots. These road projects will bring more tourists to Uttar Pradesh and also boost the local economy by improving travel and transport.

To further enhance Chitrakoot’s cultural and tourism potential, CM Yogi announced that a riverfront will be built along the Yamuna River. This riverfront will be developed with eco-tourism and pilgrimage facilities in mind, which will provide spiritual solace to devotees while also generating local employment. This plan aims to make Chitrakoot a place where tradition and tourism grow together.

In terms of education and self-reliance, the CM placed significant focus on institutions such as Gramodaya University, Ashram Paddhati Vidyalaya, Valmiki Ashram, and Kamdagiri. These institutions will focus on spiritual and moral education and teach Indian values while also supporting self-employment and rural growth. CM Yogi said Gramodaya University will be a model for a self-reliant India, where modern learning and ancient knowledge go hand in hand.

The Chief Minister also took part in religious rituals and offered prayers at Tulsi Janmukoti and saw the handwritten manuscript of Shri Ramcharitmanas preserved at Manas Mandir. Later, he joined the Tulsi Sahitya Sammelan and met well-known saints like Sant Murari Bapu and Jagadguru Shri Rambhadracharya, showing the government’s strong support for cultural growth.

Agriculture was an important part of CM Yogi Adityanath’s speech. He spoke about how farming plays a big role in the region’s economy and promised full support to farmers. He highlighted government efforts like soil testing, the use of modern farming methods, and a focus on growing crops such as pulses, oilseeds, and maize. These steps aim to increase crop production, improve food supply, and raise the income of farmers. During his visit, the CM also planted Harishankari saplings and opened an agriculture exhibition that displayed new ideas in farming and rural development.

The Chief Minister spoke strongly about the importance of the Defence Corridor project, which will help India make more defence equipment within the country. He said this project will not only make the nation safer but also bring jobs and growth to areas like Chitrakoot. CM Yogi added that any threat to India would be firmly dealt with, and even smaller regions of Uttar Pradesh will have an important role in supporting India’s defence strength.

While visiting the Ashram Paddhati Vidyalaya, the Chief Minister spent time with the children and shared sweets and chocolates with them. This simple gesture showed his effort to connect with the younger generation and encourage them to feel proud of their cultural roots. This also reflects his leadership style, which blends strong planning with a caring and personal approach.

CM Yogi’s vision for Chitrakoot goes beyond just spiritual revival. It is a well-rounded approach that combines tradition with progress. The government is working to improve education based on Indian values, boost tourism, support modern farming, and strengthen defence production. With these efforts, Chitrakoot is set to become a true example of “New India”, a place that respects its rich past while moving forward with development.

CM Yogi Adityanath’s plan for Chitrakoot is a well-planned and impactful initiative that blends spiritual values with modern development. It aims to protect the region’s rich heritage while also building modern facilities for education, tourism, and the economy. This balanced approach will turn Chitrakoot into more than just a holy place; it will become a model for rural growth, cultural pride, and overall progress.
