Guwahati: Ever since the Pahalgam terror attack took place, the social media hate by Islamist increased exponentially in Assam. Not only supporting Pakistan on terror against Hindus, but the hate mongers also threaten to slaughter Hindus like goat and cows ahead of the Eid celebration.
A very disturbing video surfaced on social media from Assam’s Nagaon district on June 4 where a man identified as Sunny Miya Bhai issued open threats to slaughter members of the Hindu community “like goats and cows”. The remark sent shock waves in the peace-loving Hindu society and many called it deeply provocative and dangerous.
The video, posted on Instagram, quickly went viral and sparked public outrage. In the clip, Sunny Miya is heard saying:
“You people (Hindus) don’t know who the Miyas are. We are not afraid. Every year we celebrate Bakri Eid. We will cut you like goats and cows, just like in Qurbani. Remember that.”

The video posted by the Islamist who has merely just over 2000 followers. But shockingly the video gained more than 44,000 likes in a short span, raising concerns about the reach and impact of such inflammatory content.
Taking the matter seriously, Assam Police tracked and arrested the accused after several complaints were filed against him after the video went viral. Officials confirmed that Sunny Miya was apprehended from his residence in Nagaon district. He has been arrested under various sections of BNS including promoting enmity between communities, criminal intimidation, and inciting violence through digital platforms. The investigation is currently underway to determine whether there are any wider networks or motives behind the video.

Responding to the incident, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reiterated the state government’s firm stand against radicalism and online hate.
“Be it hate speech, communal provocation, or threats to life — Assam Police will not spare anyone, irrespective of religion or community,” he said in a statement. “Freedom of expression does not give anyone the right to incite violence or insult religious sentiments.”
He further urged social media platforms to act responsibly and take down content that spreads hate or violence.
It should be mentioned that Assam police have so far arrested 92 people for hate posts against Hindu, Hindu god and goddesses, Indian army and supporting Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack and ‘Operation Sindoor’. The growing hate against the Hindu community in the state by the Islamist poses to be a major challenge in the coming days.
