In a unique blend of spirituality and patriotism, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi visited Chitrakoot to seek blessings from renowned spiritual leader Jagadguru Rambhadracharya. The visit, rich in symbolism, culminated in a striking moment when the spiritual guru gave the Army Chief a sacred initiation — the same ‘Ram Mantra’ said to have been imparted to Bhagwan Hanuman by Maa Sita — and asked for the return of Pakistan-occupied J&K (PoJK) as Dakshina (spiritual offering). The remark, made with conviction and wrapped in deep-rooted symbolism, echoed loudly among devotees and citizens alike. While largely symbolic, the statement also underscored the nationalist sentiments often echoed in religious and public discourse, particularly concerning PoJK.

General Upendra Dwivedi, accompanied by his wife, arrived at the serene town of Chitrakoot and first visited the revered glass temple, where he participated in spiritual rituals and offered prayers. Welcomed with garlands by Acharya Ramchandra Das and honoured with a grand reception, the Army Chief was visibly moved by the atmosphere of devotion and reverence. He also presented a memento to Jagadguru Rambhadracharya on behalf of the Indian Army, expressing admiration for the spiritual leader’s lifetime of service and dedication to social causes.

Following his spiritual engagement, General Dwivedi paid a visit to the Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust, where he met Padma Shri awardee Dr B K Jain. He toured the facility, including its renowned eye hospital, and interacted with medical staff and patients. He praised the trust’s commitment to healthcare and humanitarian service, highlighting its role in supporting the underprivileged.

General Dwivedi’s presence in Chitrakoot has since been described as deeply inspiring by both the local community and the spiritual establishment. It demonstrated the Indian Army’s connection not only to national defence but also to the values of service, culture, and spirituality that continue to shape the soul of India.
