New Delhi: As Bharat has firmed its stance in avenging the brutal attack on innocent civilians in Pahalgam by launching the ongoing “Operation Sindoor”, a number of individuals and groups within the nation have now started calling for de-escalation.
Other than the prominent social media influencers who are aligned closely with the left-liberal ideology, a number of self-acclaimed peace warriors have also appealed for the de-escalation between the two countries.
Recently, more than 20 such ‘peace activists’ from both Bharat and Pakistan held an online meeting and called for de-escalation. The group which consists of members from Bharat, Pakistan, Nepal and other individuals residing in other countries alleged that communal politics backed up by media has led to a contaminated political environment in South Asia.
The members further claimed that conflict between the two nuclear armed countries will be devastating and the common citizens, especially the weaker sections and minorities will be affected badly by any such escalation.
The group while issuing a generalise condemnation of terrorism and violence however failed to categorically mention the barbaric attack on innocent civilians in Pahalgam that led to the tension between Bharat and Pakistan.
Call for de-escalation grows among liberals after Bharat strikes under “Operation Sindoor”
It must be noted that the appeal for de-escalation has surfaced on the heels of Bharat carrying out precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir under “Operation Sindoor,” avenging the barabaric attack on its civilians by Pakistani backed terrorists a fortnight ago in Pahalgam.
The calls for de-escalation by a bunch of social media influencers and alleged peace activists does not boded well with many who while calling the hypocrisy and double speak of such individuals and groups slammed their efforts to diminish the morale of the forces at a critical time.
Many on the social media expressed their dismay over the calls for de-escalation at a time when tension is running high between the two countries, stating that the same bunch of people were earlier calling for stringent action against Pakistan.

They further highlighted that the so called crusaders of peace never categorically hold all those accountable who have been exporting terror activities in Bharat for years. Though when Bharat is rightfully exercising its power to punish those who dared to target and kill its citizens on religious lines, the peace warriors have started calling for de-escalation.

Many of the prominent handles also pointed out the appeal for de-escalation issued by Pakistani government in which it called out to its international partners to help de-escalate the ongoing tension with Bharat, citing its poor economic condition.

Significantly, Pakistan on May 8 launched a major attack on Bharat, dispatching around 400 drones, missiles and rockets at around three dozen location along the western borders. The S-400 air defence system however successfully intercepted and neutralised the threats.
