Notably a major operation, involving thousands of personnel from the state police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is being carried out near the Karregutta hills along the Telangana border.
The operation was launched after the police received intelligence related to presence of several top Maoist cadres in the Karregutta Hills area, a long held natural fortress of the outlawed CPI-Maoist along the Telangana border.
Over 24k personnel belonging to separate units of the state police and other security forces are said to be part of the operation which was launched a fortnight ago.
It is worth mentioning here that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has vowed to eliminate red terror from the country before March 31 next year.
