Describing Punjab as the land of Gurus that imparted Bharatiya knowledge to the whole world, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale said, “It is the land where Vedas were composed since ancient times. Here the sadhana of life has taken place. On this land, our ancestors have done the work of giving the message by experimenting from their experiences.”

Addressing 8th National Convention of Sahakar Bharati held in Amritsar, Punjab on December 6-8, Dattatreya Hosabaleji, who was key speaker, said cooperation is the foundation of life. “The system of our society is based on cooperation. The farmer grows crops but he cannot do this work alone. The system of our entire rural life runs through mutual cooperation. In Bharat, many thought provoking ideas have been given for cooperation in the economic sector, which is laudable.”

Appealing to Bharatiya society to become resilient, Sarkaryavah said society is the basic unit of the nation which cannot be strong and powerful without culture. “Society becomes strong only because of cultured family. Bharat is making awe-inspiring progress in the economic field today. Bharatiya society is ready to overcome the problems here. Along with economic development, there should be social change in society. Only then there can be cooperation with culture and salvation through cooperation. Harmony is crucial for the unity of country. To strengthen and empower Bharat, equality and brotherhood is essential in our society.”

Dattatreya Hosabale, who graced the second day of the three-day 8th National Convention of Sahakar Bharati, held at the Railway Ground premises, gave detailed guidance on environmental protection and civic duty and wished for the success of the eighth national convention of Sahakar Bharati.

On this occasion, IFFCO Managing Director Dr Uday Shankar Awasthi was honoured with the ‘Fertilizer Man of India’ Award by Sahakar Bharati for his special contribution to research and innovation in the field of fertilizers. Dattatreya Hosabale and the guests on stage together released the Karyakarta Margadarshika magazine.

Cooperation is not only a means of economic and political ambition but a means of creating social harmony. If there is no harmony in the society, there will be no peace

Governor of Punjab Gulabchand Kataria praised Sahakar Bharati for being the leading institution of cooperative movement working in the entire country. He congratulated Sahakar Bharati for creating sanskarvan karyakartas (cultured volunteers) for the betterment of the country, based on their motto ‘No cooperation without values’. The organisation that revered Laxman Rao Inamdarji created through this amalgamation has become a banyan tree today. The States that adopted cooperation are progressing today. The corruption and nepotism that entered this cooperation ruined it. In such a time, only Sahakar Bharti can save it like it did in the past.

Former National President Dinanath Thakur inaugurated Sahakar Bharati’s Sahakar Data Collection Portal on the third day of the 8th National Convention of Sahakar Bharati.

While highlighting the status of cooperation in the current scenario and the contribution of Sahakar Bharati, Dinanath Thakur said that any such system which is living has a spirit of mutual cooperation at its core which emerges from within and cannot be imposed. “Cooperation is not only a means of economic and political ambition but a means of creating social harmony. If there is no harmony in society, there will be no peace.”

Dinanath Thakur said that he believes Sahakar Bharati is the only organisation that can give a new direction and condition to cooperatives on the world stage.

Union Road Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, who was Chief Guest in the concluding session, launched the souvenir of Sahakar Bharati. He expressed happiness to participate in the national convention being associated with Sahakar Bharati himself and working in the cooperative sector since long.

He expressed belief that the exploited, oppressed and poor people of society have been helped through the cooperative sector. He urged the people to think about ways to make the country prosperous by developing poor villagers, labourers and farmers. We have to make the country a world leader which will be achieved through the efforts of all which is possible only through cooperation.

He exhorted that if we want to make Bharat self-reliant, then we will have to uplift the poor labourers and farmers of the village.

National President and General Secretary of Sahakar Bharati were chosen through the process of election, in which Dr Uday Joshiji was unanimously elected as National President and Shri Deepak Chaurasia ji was elected as National General Secretary. As the election officer, Patron of Sahakar Bharati, Ramesh Vaidyaji took charge of the session.
