RANCHI: Exuding confidence that the BJP will win with a “two-third” majority in Jharkhand, party MP Nishikant Dubey said on Wednesday that their issues like infiltrations and unemployment have reached the public and the party is going to form a government in Jharkhand on its own for the first time.

Dubey also cast his vote in the second phase of Jharkhand Assembly polls that are underway.

Speaking to ANI, he said, “We are going to form our government here with full majority. Our issues like infiltration, unemployment and corruption have reached the public…Adivasis (Janjatis) have taken the resolve to change the government here. We are coming to power with a 2/3rd majority. BJP is going to form its government in Jharkhand on its own for the first time.”

The electoral battle in Deoghar has emerged as a key battleground in the Jharkhand Assembly election, with the contest between BJP’s incumbent MLA Narayan Das and Rashtriya Janata Dal’s three-term ex-MLA Suresh Paswan.

Deoghar, a SC category seat is considered as a stronghold of Panda’s (Brahman) voters. They decide the win & loss of the election.

Deoghar, often referred to as “Baba Nagri” or the “Abode of God,” is a small town located in Jharkhand, which is renowned for its deep religious significance. Nestled amidst the lush forests and scenic hills of the Chotanagpur Plateau, Deoghar holds a central place in Hindu religious traditions, drawing millions of pilgrims each year.

Meanwhile, voting commenced at 7 am on Wednesday for the second phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, covering the remaining 38 seats.

The first phase of voting took place on November 13 for 43 of the 81 assembly seats.

The elections see a fierce contest between the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Congress alliance, seeking to retain power, and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA, aiming to unseat the Hemant Soren-led government.

A number of seats are under the spotlight in the second phase of assembly polls, this includes the Barhait constituency where Chief Minister Hemant Soren is in the fray against BJP’s Gamliyel Hembrom.

Another key candidate is BJP’s Babulal Marandi, contesting from the Dhanwar constituency. Marandi, the state’s first Chief Minister after its formation in 2000, served as Leader of the Opposition in the outgoing assembly. He is up against JMM’s Nizam Uddin Ansari. (ANI)
