Kerala: Remand report reveals criminal intent in CPM leader Divya’s involvement in ADM Naveen Babu suicide

The remand report also reveals that Divya had a local cable TV videographer record her actions at the send-off, allegedly to publicly humiliate ADM Naveen Babu. She reportedly warned him of “consequences” in a menacing tone, and the footage was circulated on social media, allegedly causing ADM Naveen Babu severe mental distress.

Following P.P. Divya’s surrender, which is widely believed to have been arranged, more revelations continue to unfold. The remand report for the former District Panchayat President states that CPM leader gatecrashed ADM Naveen Babu’s farewell ceremony as part of a premeditated plot, reflecting a calculated mindset. Reportedly, no complaint had been filed regarding the petrol station, yet the report alleges that she acted with a criminal, conspiratorial intent: she intruded on the farewell event, and later she shied away from cooperating with the investigation and lived underground.

The remand report also reveals that CPM leader Divya had a local cable TV videographer record her actions at the send-off, allegedly to publicly humiliate ADM Naveen Babu. She reportedly warned him of “consequences” in a menacing tone, and the footage was circulated on social media, allegedly causing ADM Naveen Babu severe mental distress. Notably, communist leader Divya left the venue before the farewell gift was presented to the ADM, reinforcing that she was uninvited. During the event, she took a seat vacated by someone else, underscoring that her presence was neither planned nor welcomed. Divya has also been implicated in several other cases.

Meanwhile, Kannur District Collector Arun K. Vijayan, IAS, has affirmed his earlier statement to investigators, claiming that Naveen Babu confided in him after the ceremony, admitting to having made “some errors.” Allegations suggest this may be an attempt to shield Divya. The Collector told the media he could not disclose details of this conversation, while reiterating that Divya had not been invited to the farewell. In contrast, Manjusha Naveen Babu, the deceased ADM’s widow, refuted the Collector’s claims, stating that her husband shared no rapport or closeness with him, making such a “confidential” conversation highly improbable.

The CPM has removed P P Divya from her position as District Panchayat President amid growing backlash following the alleged suicide of Additional District Magistrate Naveen Babu. A police case has been registered against her

In other words, many aspects remain undisclosed in connection with the tragic death of ADM Naveen Babu, the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Kannur, at his official residence on the morning of October 15, just hours before he was scheduled to leave for his new posting in Pathanamthitta. His sudden death, reportedly by suicide, sparked wave of protests, with many pointing to the alleged humiliation he suffered at the hands of PP Divya, a CPM leader and DistrictPanchayat President, just a day earlier.
