‘RSS pracharaks are no less than saints’: Christian guest & musician Ouseppachan at RSS Vijayadashami in Thrissur

At the event, I learned that some of the RSS members lead an ascetic life. These people have dedicated their lives to the organization and the nation and will have to leave the organisation if they decide to marry. I was impressed and expressed my thoughts through words,” Ouseppachan responded to critics

Thrissur, Kerala: “RSS is not caught in the shackles of caste and religion. They have broader views, and the organisation works for the betterment of the country,” said Mechery Louis Ouseppachan, a leading musician of Malayalam cinema, at the RSS Vijayadashmi Utsav in Thrissur, where he was the Chief Guest of the event.

“RSS pracharaks who have dedicated their full time to RSS-related service are no less than saints. The work they do for the country, leaving behind all worldly pleasures, cannot be praised enough,” he said.

“I’m not participating in this event with any political motives. Politics is good and is needed. Even at this age, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing Yoga with ease. It has gifted him the power and cognizance to be the political virtuoso he is today. The discipline of the RSS is worth mentioning. When an orator speaks, one should be keen enough to grasp the idea being discussed rather than waiting to give thunderous applause.”

“I came here to understand that Sangh workers are fully devoted to the welfare of humanity,” he further added.

Notably, Mechery Louis Ouseppachan is of Christian faith, and for attending the RSS Vijayadashmi Utsav, he faced criticism from members of the Christian community. Replying to critics, Ouseppachan said, “I attended a function as I was respectfully invited to and spoke what I felt was right at that time.”

“Many people called me after the function, and only one among them told me that he did not agree with my decision to attend the RSS program. A group of people who respect my music invited me to an event celebrating the centenary of their organisation on Vijayadashmi. I am a musician, and I went there out of politeness and respect,” said Ouseppachan.

“Before attending the RSS event, I asked some friends about the organisation, and none had a bad word to say about it,” he added.

“At the event, I learned that some of the RSS members lead an ascetic life. These people have dedicated their lives to the organisation and the nation and will have to leave the organisation if they decide to marry. I was impressed and expressed my thoughts through words,” Ouseppachan responded to critics.

RSS Dakshin Kshetriya Sah Karyavah M Radhakrishnan delivered the keynote address. Mahanagar Sanghachalak Prof. PV Gopinathan and Sahakaryavah P. Harigovind were also present at the event.
