RAIPUR: In another incident pertaining to promotion of conversion activities, the Chhattisgarh police on Monday, October 14, detained an individual from Darogapara area of Raigarh district. According to the media reports, the detained youth was allegedly inciting the local residents for conversion when he was caught up red handed.
The incident pertains to Yadav Gali of Darogapara where a youth of the Christian community has called a religious praying ceremony (Prarthana Sabha) on late Monday evening.
However, the information about the said gathering somehow reached to a few local Hindu activists, who soon gathered near the spot and caught the youth. Two of the associates of the youth, however somehow managed to flee the spot.
Upon asking about the detailed of the program, the youth informed that he hails from the Dewangan community and they have gathered here for a prayer ceremony. The activists then informed the police about the gathering and conversion related activities and handed over the accused to the police.
The news of conversion related activities though angered the activists and locals who subsequently reached the City Kotwali police station and demanded stringent action against the detained individual. As of now the matter is being probed by the police.

It must be noted here that cases pertaining to promotion of illegal conversion through means of lure, inducement and by spreading fallacy are keep coming to the fore from separate corners of the state, underscoring the need of a stringent law to deal with the menace of illegal conversion.
In a similar case reported by Organiser on Spetember 3, an altercation was reported between the local residents and a group of people led by a pastor over organising a prayer ceremony in Manki village under Arjunda police station limits of Balod district of Chhattisgarh.
The scuffle between the two sides occurred on September 1, after a local pastor identified as Rakesh Nirmalkar organised a religious gathering aimed allegedly at inciting a section of villagers for anti-Hindu activities despite repeated objection by the villagers.
It was then reported that Rakesh was continuously visiting Manki and other adjacent villages and was indulged in convincing/misleading people to attend “Prarthana Sabha”. His continuous anti-Hindu activities eventually rattled the villagers who confronted him on September 1 when he was organising a similar prayer ceremony in Manki village.
Arriving on the spot, a police team then tried calming down the agitated villagers alongside detaining the said pastor and a few of his accomplices. Later the police booked Rakesh Nirmalkar under section 170 of the Bharataiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and produced him before the court from where he was sent to judicial custody.
