Organiser Weekly is organising the “Ayushman Bhava: – Holistic Healthcare” Conclave in collaboration with Gujarat University, Institute of Indic Studies, SAP, is set to take place on September 12, 2024, at the Atal Kalam Auditorium, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. This daylong event aims to bring together intellectuals, medical practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and healthcare professionals to discuss the increasing relevance of holistic healthcare in a post-COVID world.
As the world recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a growing realisation of the need for a holistic approach to healthcare that combines modern medical practices with traditional healing methods like Ayurveda and naturopathy. The conclave will explore various themes related to holistic health, including accessible healthcare, lifestyle management and integrating traditional knowledge systems into mainstream medical practices.
Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat, will grace the inaugural session along with Shri Rushikesh Patel, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat and Prof Neerja Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University, at 9 AM. The Keynote session will be graced by Dr Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, Dr Jayantibhai Bhadesiya, Paschim Kshetra Sanghachalak, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Dr Anil J Nayak, Honorary Secretary General, IMA Headquarters. The Mayor of Ahmedabad, Pratibhaben Jain will also be present on the occasion.
The Conclave will feature several insightful panel discussions on key topics in healthcare. The first panel, “Affordable and Accessible Healthcare,” will be moderated by Shri Yatish Rajawat, CEO of CIPP, and will include experts from various medical and research fields including Dr Parul Vadagama, HOD Respiratory and Medicine, GMC, Surat, Shri Rajendra Gupta, founder Viksit Bharat Abhiyan and Dr Bhavesh Roy, Consultant Cardiologist, ZYDUS Hospitals, Ahmedabad, to discuss challenges and solutions for making healthcare accessible to all.
Following this, the next session, “Holistic and Integrated Healthcare” will be moderated by Shri Amit Srivastava, Senior Columnist, featuring distinguished speakers namely Lt Gen Ajit Nilakantan, PVSM (Retd), Executive Director & Principal of the Medical College and Hospital, Dr Chetna Desai, Professor and Head of Pharmacology at B J Medical College, Ahmedabad, and Shri V D Tapan Kumar, MD in Ayurvedic Medicine, who will discuss the integration of traditional and modern medical practices.
The following session, “Health and Lifestyle,” will be moderated by Ms Sharmi Adhikary, a Senior Lifestyle Journalist and will feature Ms Sheela Krishnaswamy, a renowned Nutrition & Wellness Consultant, and Shri Jaiveerraj Singh Gohil, a Public Health Expert and Shri Abhishek Choudhury, Founder and CEO, Earth Story Farms. This session will focus on promoting awareness of the impact of lifestyle choices on health and the importance of preventive care.
The following session, “Atmanirbhar Bharat in Healthcare” will be moderated by Dr K S Purohit, Senior Gastro Surgeon and will include prominent leaders from the healthcare sector, discussing the vision for a self-reliant India in healthcare. The speakers in this session will include—Dr Rakesh Pandey, CMD Global, Bravo Healthcare Group, Dr Manish Khaitan, Director and Chief Bariatric Surgeon at Nobesity Bariatric Centre, KD Hospital, Ahmedabad and Dr Rakesh Shah, Cluster head, Shalby Hospitals.
The conclave will conclude with a Valedictory Session featuring Prof Neerja Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University, Shri Prafulla Ketkar, Editor, Organiser Weekly and Shri Arun Kumar Goyal, Managing Director of Bharat Prakashan (Delhi) Ltd.
The discussions throughout the conclave will address critical issues in healthcare, including the integration of holistic healthcare by combining traditional healing practices with modern medical approaches for comprehensive well-being. They will also explore ways to make healthcare affordable and accessible, especially in rural and untouched regions of the country, and emphasise the importance of healthy lifestyles and preventive care.
