RANCHI: Tension simmers in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad and Giridih district over two separate incidents linked to disrupting peace and communal harmony. As per the details floating in media, the first incident pertains to Keshwari village of Sariya police station limits of Giridih, where unknown elements installed an Islamic flag in the temple premises on Tuesday, September 10, triggering an outrage among the residents.

Learning about the incident a police team led by Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Sirya Bagodar, Dhanaanjya Ram soon reached the spot and calmed the agitated residents by assuring them action against those responsible for the act. The police also uproot the said flag from the spot.

In another related development reported from Dhanbad, tension simmers under Chirkunda police station limits after a few people threw a piece of cooked meat near a Hanuman temple in Babudangal area. The incident took place on Monday night, September 09 angering the locals who gathers on the spot in large numbers on Tuesday morning, demanding action against the accused.

A police team led by SDPO, Nirsa, Rajat Mani Bakhla immediately reached the spot upon receiving information about the incident and assured action against the culprits. As of now the police have reportedly detained a few suspects in the case who are being interrogated while adequate arrangements of security personnel have been made in the village to prevent any untoward incident.

According to the report,, the locals have alleged that a marriage ceremony was organised at Majid Miya house near the temple premise on Monday night and it’s likely that someone from there has threw a piece of cooked meat to disrupt communal harmony. However, the same has been denied by the members of Majid’s family. It must be noted, that incidents of communal nature in separate areas of the state has kept the police and the administration on its toes in recent months.
