Bihar: Two including sub-zonal commander of outlawed CPI Maoist held in Aurangabad

Aurangabad police in a significant development have arrested two notorious Maoist cadres on Friday, August 2. The accused have been nabbed in a joint operation conducted by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and police under the jurisdiction of Mali police station.

According to the information received, the Aurangabad police received credible input about presence of notorious Maoist cadres in Belakheda village under the Male police station limits. Upon receiving the inputs, a special joint team was formed comprising of personnel of SSB and Police.

The police team then raided the house of Lutan Singh, a resident of Belakheda and nabbed two notorious Maoists. The arrested Maoist have been identified as Vijay Paswan (42), a resident of Belakheda and Rajendra Singh (57), a resident of Sori village. The joint team also seized two country-made pistol along with live cartridges from the possession of the accused.

One of the arrested accused Rajendra Singh is a sub-zonal commander of the banned outfit, Communist Party of India (Maoist) and a reward of Rs 3 lakh has already been announced on him by the Bihar government, informed Aurangabad Superintendent of Police, Swapna G Meshram.

The nabbed Maoist commander has a total of 21 cases pending against him. This include 11 cases in separate police stations of Aurangabad, 5 in Gaya district and another 5 in Chhattarpur police station of Palamu district of Jharkhand. More Information pertaining to their involvement in other cases are being collected from separate districts of Jharkhand, she added.

She further informed that a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of Arms Act in Male police station and the accused are being sent in judicial custody.

It is to be noted that the Bihar police have been actively running campaigns against the outlaws in the State with an aim to contain the attempts of the outlaws to regain strength in the insurgency-free State.

Recently in a similar operation launched in Harhi village under the Bhadwar police station limits, the police had also arrested two wanted Maoists on July 30. The arrested Maoists were identified as Krishna Yadav and Shibanand Yadav who have been absconding since long.
