The Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps marked International Yoga Day with extensive yoga activities across North Bengal and Sikkim, including high-altitude border areas above 15,000 ft. Recognising yoga as a crucial practice for military personnel who operate under physically and mentally strenuous conditions, these activities aimed to enhance the overall well-being of the troops by improving both physical and mental health, thereby boosting resilience and performance.

Throughout June, the Trishakti Corps organised yoga sessions culminating on June 21. These events saw enthusiastic participation from soldiers and their families stationed across the region. In many locations, local civilians were also invited to join the yoga sessions, fostering community integration and shared wellness practices.

The yoga sessions focused on raising awareness about the benefits of yoga and encouraging the habit of regular practice. The initiative highlighted how yoga can significantly improve physical health and mental clarity, essential for military personnel facing demanding environments.

The Trishakti Corps’ celebration of International Yoga Day underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its personnel and the communities they serve. By integrating yoga into daily routines, the Corps aims to promote a healthier lifestyle for both soldiers and civilians alike.

NCC NER Yoga Day:

The North Eastern Region (NER) Directorate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21 with a vibrant event at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati. The celebration featured 2,500 NCC cadets from various units across the Guwahati region. The event was graced by a leading entrepreneur of Assam Riniky Bhuyan Sarma, whose presence added inspiration and significance.

The cadets showcased an impressive array of yoga postures and techniques, demonstrating their commitment to fitness and holistic well-being. Yoga’s focus on physical health and mental tranquillity aligns with the values of the NCC.

In her address, Riniky Bhuyan Sarma emphasised the importance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world, highlighting its benefits for physical fitness and mental clarity. She praised the cadets for their active participation and encouraged them to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for improved overall well-being.

The event at NCC Group Headquarters, Guwahati, underscored the significance of yoga and fostered camaraderie and discipline among the cadets. The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by the cadets reflected their commitment to embracing yoga as a way of life.
