The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged protests at Delhi University (DU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Wednesday, calling for justice for Harsh Raj, a Patna University student who was brutally murdered. The protests were directed against members of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), whom the ABVP alleges are responsible for the killing

It should be noted that Harsh Raj, a student of Bihar National College affiliated with Patna University, was brutally lynched to death by AISA goons on Monday, May 27. Despite the cancellation of the primary membership of the prime accused, Chandan, who was an office bearer of AISA, ABVP insists that only disciplinary actions are insufficient and demands the strictest actions against the perpetrators and stringent measures such as banning the violent ideologies promoting brutality and toxicity by these leftist organisations.

ABVP has protested on the DU and JNU campuses, including burning an effigy of AISA, demanding justice for Harsh Raj.Protesters gathered on both campuses, holding placards and chanting slogans demanding an immediate investigation and stringent action against those involved. To symbolise their outrage, the ABVP members burned effigies representing AISA, urging authorities to take swift and decisive measures.

The protests have drawn attention to the ongoing tensions between student organizations across various universities. ABVP members expressed their solidarity with the students of Patna University and pledged to continue their agitation until justice is served.

In response to the protests, university administrations at DU and JNU have increased security on their campuses to maintain order and prevent any escalation of violence.

The ABVP has called for a nationwide movement to bring attention to the issue and ensure that similar incidents are not repeated. Students and faculty members from various universities have been urged to join the movement and support the call for justice for Harsh Raj.

ABVP leaders addressed the crowds at DU and JNU, condemning the violence and calling for justice for Harsh Raj. “This brutal act cannot go unpunished. We demand a thorough investigation and the strictest action against those responsible,” one protestor declared.

Authorities in Patna have initiated an investigation into the murder, but details remain scarce. The ABVP’s protests have put additional pressure on law enforcement agencies to expedite their efforts and bring the perpetrators to justice.
