In a shocking case reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district, a minor Hindu girl was allegedly pushed in front of a running train by one Mohammad Fariyad, leaving her dead. The body of the girl was recovered in two pieces, with family alleging that she was taken to a mosque, converted and raped before the murder. The Bareilly police arrested the accused and the investigations in this case are underway.

As per the complaint letter accessed by Organiser, the mother of the minor victim, Usha, wife of Mahesh Yadav, a native of Nai Basti Faridpur area, told the police how a group of Muslim men, one of whom was identified as Mohammad Fariyad, had killed her 14-year-old daughter.

She told the police that, on May 8, they received a call from the minor’s school that she had received low marks in a subject and the school called her to fill the improvement form. On her way, she encountered Fariyad, who offered to drop her off at the school. The minor took the ride.

However, instead of taking her to the school, he took the victim to the rail bridge near the Bahgul River.

Local media sources have reported that following their arrival at the railway bridge, Fariyad first physically assaulted the victim and subsequently pushed her in front of an oncoming train. Tragically, the victim died instantly.

The deceased’s parents have alleged that the accused initially took the minor to a mosque, where she was coerced into converting to Islam. It is also claimed that she was sexually assaulted before being brutally murdered.

As per the complaint, the victim’s brother witnessed the accused dragging her towards the railway tracks. He promptly alerted their family, who rushed to the scene along with other locals. Despite their attempts to intervene, Fariyad pushed the girl in front of the moving train and attempted to flee, but was apprehended by the bystanders.

The police were alerted by the deceased girl’s elder sister and arrived at the scene, taking the accused into custody.

While the deceased family was handing Fariyad to the police, he tried attacking them with a sharp knife.

The Bareilly police have taken to X to confirm the incident. They have said that an FIR has been filed at the Fatehganj east police station and Katna police station in Shahjahanpur. The postmortem was conducted at Shahjanahpur; however, an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC against a named accused was registered. The accused has been arrested, and an investigation has been initiated into the case.
