Following the chilling murder of two Hindu boys in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun committed on the night of March 19, the police arrested the second accused, Mohammad Javed, from Bareilly on March 21, two days after the brutal butchering. The other accused, Sajid, was shot in the police cross-firing and was declared dead. The victims, Ayush and Ahan, aka Honey, and their family knew the accused very well, and the day the duo Javed and Sajid came to the house to kill the minors, their mother offered them tea and also lent them a sum of Rs 5000.

On March 21, the autopsy report was made public, as per which there were as many as 23 stab wounds on the dead bodies of the two minors. As per the postmortem report, 14 blows to Ayush, and nine to his younger brother Ahan were found.

The details of the murder, as per the autopsy, establish that the duo were first attacked around their necks and then stabbed multiple times on their backs. There are also wounds on their legs, which suggests that the minors must have tried to escape only to be held back by the perpetrator.

Sajid was the one who had attacked the minor boys. Ayush and Ahan died to the attack while, Yuvraj managed to escape and was later admitted to the hospital.

News Agency ANI reported that the co-accused, Javed, has been brought to Budaun from Bareilly and is kept in custody at Ujhani police station. He is being questioned by SSP Alok Priyadarshi.

Based on the FIR lodged by Vinod Singh, the father of the minor accused Ayush and Ahan, the accused Sajid and Javed have been booked under sections for murder and attempted murder.

As mentioned before, the accused were neighbours of the victim’s family, and on the day of the attack, they came to meet the victim’s mother, Sangeeta, to borrow some money. In the meantime, he asked Sangeeta to prepare tea for them.

After getting into the house, Sajid asked Ayush to take him to his mother’s beauty salon upstairs. Upon reaching the second floor, Sajid allegedly switched off the lights before launching a vicious assault on Ayush with a knife. As Sajid slashed Ayush’s throat, his younger brother Ahan entered the room. Sajid then grabbed Ahan and stabbed him multiple times as well. Subsequently, he targeted their other sibling, Yuraj, though the seven-year-old managed to escape, sustaining minor injuries in the process.

After Sajid returned from the terrace where he killed the minors, he was carrying a shaving blade in his hand and was soaked in blood. He told Sangeeta, “I have done my work today.”

Following the massacre, Sajid, accompanied by his brother Javed who was waiting outside the house with a motorcycle, fled the scene. According to the police, when Sajid was caught, he fired at the cops and was killed in an encounter. A police personnel was also shot and has been admitted to hospital.
