In a significant development for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, plans are underway to construct four additional gates around the sacred site, in addition to the existing main gate on the Ram Janmabhoomi path. The decision, approved by the Building Construction Committee and the pilgrimage area, aims to enhance the accessibility and grandeur of the Mandir complex. The Uttar Pradesh State Construction Corporation (UPRNN) has been entrusted with the responsibility of executing this project.

The main entrance to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, situated on the Janmabhoomi Path, will remain the focal point, while the four new gates will be strategically positioned in different directions around the Mandir. Engineers from UPRNN will meticulously plan the construction, including measurements and designs, which will be presented to the pilgrimage area for approval. Once the design is agreed upon, the construction process will commence, enriching the pilgrimage experience for devotees.

Simultaneously, discussions are in progress to elevate the Ram Katha Museum to international standards, akin to the renowned Louvre Museum in Paris. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra envisions transforming the museum to showcase not only Sri Ram but also the cultural and historical significance of Ayodhya. Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Curator of the National Museum, Delhi, has been appointed as the Chief Curator for this ambitious project. Dr Kumar, present at the Building Construction Committee meeting, has been tasked with developing a comprehensive master plan to ensure the museum’s international appeal. The goal is to complete this transformation by December 2024.

The Ram Katha Museum is poised to become a global attraction, featuring exhibits that go beyond the divine aspects of Sri Ram to encompass the rich heritage of Ayodhya. The Chief Curator’s expertise will be instrumental in curating a world-class museum that captures the essence of the city and its historical significance.

Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra emphasised the commitment to monitor the construction progress diligently. The Building Construction Committee will conduct reviews every 15 days to ensure the timely and efficient execution of both the Mandir gates and museum projects. This approach aims to uphold the highest standards of construction and preserve the sanctity of the pilgrimage site.

As the developments unfold, the consecration of Ram Lalla has attracted attention from various States, with Chief Ministers and their cabinet members planning visits to witness the historic event. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on February 13, accompanied by his cabinet colleagues, following the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla. This visit marks a testament to the national importance and significance of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir project.

These developments signify a transformative phase for Ayodhya, as the construction of new gates and the evolution of the Ram Katha Museum into an international marvel promise to enhance the spiritual and cultural experience for devotees and visitors alike. The meticulous planning, expert curation, and commitment to international standards underscore the significance of Ayodhya as a cultural and religious hub.
