Shri Ram Raag Seva, a devotional event organised at the Shri Ram mandir in Ayodhya, incorporates almost every type of musical presentation in the genres of dance, singing, and instrumental. Several renowned artists, including Anuradha Paodwal, Rahul Deshpande, Vyjayanthimala, and Hema Malini are set to perform in the 45-day-long devotional art festival.

On Monday January 22,  2024, and the Dwadashi tithi of the Shukla Paksha fortnight of the Hindu calendar month of Poush in Vikram Era year 2080, millions across the world watched the live webcast of Prana Pratishtha Mahotsav of Shri Ramlalla Sarkar, from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir complex in Ayodhya.

The celebrations and ceremonies conjoined with the epochal consecration event continue. Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra has organised Shri Ram-Raag Seva, a 45-day event in line with the classical tradition, organised at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple from Friday, January 26, 2024.

This event is being organised in the Gudi Mandap before the Lord, in which more than 100 well-known artists from different provinces and art traditions from across the country have begun to offer their raga seva (one-by-one) at the feet of Lord Shri Ramlala Sarkar for 45 days from January 26 to March 10, 2024.

The architect and coordinator of this programme on behalf of the Trust is Shri Yatindra Mishra.

On the first day, the Raga Seva programme was launched in dedication to Bhagwan Shri Ram Lala and renowned Indian folk singer Malini Awasthi performed before Bhagwan Ram. The temple premises were filled with devotion and joy with the singing of the traditional folk genre of Awadh – Sohar and Badhaai by the Shrimati Malini Awasthi.

On January 27, in the celebration of the Raagotsav at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, renowned Odissi dancer and recipient of the Kendriya Sangeet Natak Akademi award, Shrimati Sujata Mohapatra expressed her devotion, reverence, and affection for Bhagwan Shri Ramlalla through her enchanting dance performance.

On Sunday January 28, renowned classical dancer Swapna Sundari showcasing the ancient Vedic tradition of worshiping Bhagwan Vishnu in the Raga Mahotsav.

Incorporating elements from ‘Vaikhansa Agama Shastra’ and dance, she offered floral tributes and performed the Ashtadhik Vandana, invoking deities. The presentation included a sublime rendition of Ram Talam and Palki Vandana, expressing deep devotion to Prabhu Shri Ramlala Sarkar.

On Monday January 29, famous bhajan singing stalwart Shri Anup Jalota sang a series of devotional bhajans of Lord Shri Ramlala such as the chartbuster rendition “Aisi Laagi Lagan”, “Achhyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram”, “Mere Mann Mein Ram Rom-Rom Mein Ram” etc. dedicated to Lord Ram and infused the piety-filled atmosphere with joy.

On January 30, the famous bhajan singer, Shrimati Anuradha Paudwal offered her “raga-seva” at the feet of Lord Shri Ramlala Sarkar through her rendition of devotional verses, and bhajans.

On January 31, in the celebration of the Raagotsav at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, renowned musician and recipient of Padma Shri award, Shri Purnadas Baul and Shri Vedantam Ramalingam Shastri, Vasant Kiran and group presented traditional Baul music and offered his raga sewa to Bhagwan Shri Ramlala Sarkar.

On Thursday February 1, the presentation of Kuchipudi commenced with a performance by Dr Vasanth Kiran from Andhra Pradesh who gave a soulful performance of “Pibare Ramarasam.”

Following this, Dr Vedantam Ramalinga Sastry ji and his group presented Kuchipudi Prahlada Yakshaganam, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of this traditional dance form.

Today in Sri Ram Raga Seva, there will be a soulful rendition of ‘Ravanasya Kailashadharanam’ and ‘Parvati Virham’ by Kalamandalam Jishnu Prathap from the state of Kerala.
