From Guwahati’s Harijan Colony to the sacred precincts of Kamakhya Mandir, the festivities unfolded with grandeur. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, luminaries, and citizens embraced the historic moment, echoing Jai Shri Ram. This vibrant tapestry of cultural exuberance symbolises a rekindling of Hindutva spirit and collective aspirations.
In a celebration echoing through the serene landscapes of Assam and resonating across the North East, Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22 became a radiant spectacle of devotion and joy. A Mandir at Harijan Colony in Guwahati stood adorned, a tapestry of vibrant celebrations where Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, alongside hundreds of devotees, witnessed the grand ceremony on television. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma captured the essence, stating, “The exact moment when aspirations of a billion plus people sprang to life – an entire civilisation rekindled with the Pran Pratishtha of Bhagwan Sri Ram Lalla.”
In the heart of Agartala, at the Durgabari premises, devotees immersed themselves in the historic Yajna ceremony and Aarti, marking Sri Ramachandra’s return to Ayodhya after a wait of five centuries. The atmosphere was saturated with Ram bhajans, vibrant decorations, and the palpable spirit of Sanatan culture.
In Tripura, Chief Minister Manik Saha, after participating in the Yagna, expressed his hopes, saying, “May this auspicious arrival of Bhagwan Ram brings endless joy, happiness, and prosperity in everyone’s life.”
The fervour extended to Upper Assam’s Sivasagar, where a day-long programme unfolded, starting with the lighting of lamps, followed by the recitation of Ramayan and Diha Naam programme. A colourful procession traversed Gaurisagar, echoing with jubilant shouts of Jai Shri Ram. Students took on the roles of Hanuman, Sita, Lakshman, and Bhagwan Ram, adding a lively touch to the celebrations. The evening culminated in a cultural function with artists performing devotional songs.
Dibrugarh witnessed a vibrant display of unity as Hindu organisations and residents took to the streets for colourful rallies under the Vishva Hindu Parishad’s banner. The Bajrang Dal’s rally, featuring traditional attire-clad youths chanting Jai Shri Ram, resonated with the spirit of the occasion. Earthen lamps illuminated the town, and cultural programmes added to the festive atmosphere.
Nagaon’s Maha Mrityunjoy Mandir and Nalbari’s Billeswar Devalaya celebrated with grandeur, lighting up thousands of diyas, while Kokrajhar town glowed with lights and echoed with drums and firecrackers. The Pagla Baba Mandir near BTC Secretariat hosted a joyous celebration, with citizens expressing their elation at the resurgence of Hindutva.
Kamakhya Mandir’s sacred premises were aglow with thousands of diyas on the evening of Ram Lalla’s Pran Pratishtha. Devotees flocked to Kamakhya Mandir, lighting up ‘Ram Jyoti’ with chants of Jai Shri Ram. The birthplace of Guru Sankardev in Batadrava Than and numerous Satras in Majuli hosted special Naam Prasanga (prayers), while villages across the region sparkled with diyas, reminiscent of Deepawali.
Arunachal Pradesh joined the jubilation, with Chief Minister Pema Khandu and other dignitaries celebrating the auspicious Pran Pratishtha of Sri Ram. Watching the live telecast of Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya from Tuting, CM Pema Khandu expressed his wishes, “May Bhagwan Ram bless humanity with peace, progress, and prosperity.”
As the echoes of Jai Shri Ram reverberated across the North East, Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla not only marked a religious milestone but also united communities in a tapestry of cultural exuberance, rekindling the spirit of Hindutva and embracing the collective hopes of a billion hearts.
