Prime Minister (PM), Narendra Modi, on Monday, January 8, 2024, looked all impressed by the knowledge of a female resident of Chhattisgarh pertaining to welfare schemes being run by the Union Government during an interaction with the beneficiaries in the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
Bhumika Bhuvare, a resident of Bhanbeda village in Bhanupartapur in Kanker, impressed Prime Minister Modi with her knowledge of the various welfare schemes being run by the Union government. Interacting with the PM via video conferencing, the woman from the tribal (Janjati/Vanvasi) community informed that she works as a Secretary of one of the 29 Van Dhan groups in her village.
Bhuvare further informed that she availed the benefits of various government schemes, such as Ujjawala gas connections, Van Dhan Yojna, the Jal Jeevan MNREGA card, the Ration card, and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Impressed with Bhumika remembering the names of all government schemes, the PM said that it strengthens the government to a great extent to work for the people.
Further, the PM also inquired about the education of Bhumika and lauded the contributions of her parents in imparting education to both children, including her younger brother, who is currently studying in college. The PM further urged the other residents of the village to invest in the education of children.
Bhuvare also informed the PM about her self-help Van Dhan group, which produces Mahwa Ladoo and Amla pickles, which are sold in the market at Rs 700 per kg to which the PM while expressing satisfaction that all the benefits have been made available to the beneficiaries without any hassle, lauded her efforts in making appropriate use of Mahwa, which is generally used for intoxication.
In the end, the PM, while lauding the efforts of Bhumika for the positive results of the Van Dhan Kendra, asserted that “the government is committed to the development of citizens living in the Janjati-dominated regions, and the PM Jan Man Yojna launched on the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda is going to be of great help to the Janjati people.”
Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra
It is to be noted that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is being undertaken across the country with the aim to attain saturation of flagship schemes of the government by ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a time-bound manner.
It is worth mentioning here that the flagship Yatra was launched by the government on November 15th last year, which has so far gained massive response across the country. According to the information received, the Yatra crossed a major milestone on January 5 as the number of participants reached 10 crore people.
Off late, the PM has also been interacting with thousands of beneficiaries from across the country, accompanied by Union Ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) during the ongoing Yatra via video conferencing.
Since its launch, the PM has so far interacted with the beneficiaries on as many as five occasions, including the physical interaction with the beneficiaries during the PM’s recent visit to Varanasi on December 17-18 last year.
