In an endeavour to make Ayodhya’s Deepotsav truly spectacular, the tourism department is making all possible efforts to turn it into a memorable event. They are set to illuminate the entire Panchkosi, 14 Kosi, and 84 Kosi parikrama routes, along with prominent temples and social sites, with a whopping seven lakh lamps.

The Tourism Department, in collaboration with other government agencies and local artisans, is set to unveil grand tableaus that will depict various aspects of the Ramayana. Regional Tourism Officer, RP Yadav, shared that these tableaus will be inspired by the seven chapters of the Ramayana, namely, Bal Kand, Ayodhya Kand, Aranya Kand, Sundar Kand, Kishkindha Kand, Lanka Kand, and Uttar Kand. In addition to these, a tableau featuring Lord Rama’s chariot will also be showcased during the Deepotsav celebrations.

These magnificent tableaus will begin their journey from Saket Mahavidyalaya and travel along a designated route, culminating at the new ghat. The intricate work of decorating and preparing these tableaus is already underway, as artists and craftsmen put their skills to the test to ensure a mesmerising visual experience for the attendees.

Lighting Up Ayodhya
One of the most prominent features of Deepotsav is the lighting of thousands of lamps to illuminate the entire city. This year, the goal is to light up an astonishing 24 lakh lamps. To achieve this ambitious target, the Tourism Department is committed to lighting seven lakh lamps in key locations. The whole event aims to create a breathtaking and awe-inspiring atmosphere that will captivate the hearts of devotees and tourists.

Ayodhya’s Iconic Routes and Temples To Light Up
In addition to the main Deepotsav celebration, the Tourism Department is not limiting its efforts to just the town centre. Ayodhya is surrounded by important pilgrimage routes, including the Panchkosi, 14 Kosi, and 84 Kosi parikrama routes. To ensure that the religious significance of these routes is fully acknowledged, the Tourism Department is coordinating with local temples and social sites along these paths to light lamps and create a divine ambiance. This initiative will allow pilgrims and tourists to experience the spiritual and historical essence of Ayodhya’s sacred land.

A New Milestone for Deepotsav
The government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is committed to establishing a new milestone for Deepotsav this year. With the vision of creating a world-renowned celebration of lights, the Tourism Department is putting its full efforts into making this event unforgettable.

Deepotsav 2023 promises to be a grand spectacle, with the Tourism Department’s seven captivating tableaus that will bring the timeless tale of Ramayana to life. Furthermore, the lighting of millions of lamps along the pilgrimage routes and in temples will create a spiritual atmosphere that will enchant visitors from all over the world. As Ayodhya gears up for this monumental event, it is evident that the government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure Deepotsav 2023 is celebrated with unparalleled grandeur and devotion.
