On October 25, a tragic incident occurred in Bayana town, located in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur District. A dispute over land led to the untimely demise of an individual who was fatally crushed by a tractor. The horrifying event was recorded and has since circulated widely on social media platforms. The distressing footage depicts the victim, identified as 35-year-old Nirpat Gurjar, being repeatedly run over by the tractor until his life was taken.

The alleged perpetrator, Bahadur Gurjar, promptly fled the scene following the heinous act. It has been reported that a longstanding land dispute had been ongoing between Bahadur Gurjar and Atar Singh Gurjar, the father of the deceased, Nirpat.

The incident took place in Adda village.

On the morning of October 25, both parties confronted each other directly, sparking a heated altercation that quickly escalated. The dispute escalated into physical violence, with both sides resorting to using stones and sticks. In the midst of this turmoil, Atar Singh Gurjar accused Bahadur of wrongfully seizing the land, further exacerbating the situation and ultimately leading to the tragic and brutal murder of Nirpat Gurjar.

Law & Order in Rajasthan – one more shocker

Heartbreakingly, the video captures the anguished pleas of the deceased’s family members, including women, begging the accused not to carry out the fatal act. They can be seen imploring and weeping in front of the perpetrator, but their pleas fell on deaf ears as he callously used the tractor to end Nirpat’s life. Shockingly, onlookers continued to record the incident, yet none stepped forward to intervene and save Nirpat from the impending danger posed by the tractor.

What said the police?

Bayana range Assistant Superintendant of Police Om Prakash Kalaniya said, “We received information at around 7:30 am in the morning that a clash had erupted between two parties belonging to the Gurjar community. I reached the spot along with Station House Officer (SHO) and Circle Officer (CO) and found that, amid the fight between the two groups, a person died after he was run over by a tractor.”

A purported video of the incident that has surfaced online showing a man being run over by a tractor multiple times.

The police official further said that several people were injured in the incident and were hospitalised.

“An FIR has also been filed on the basis of the complaint received, and further legal action will be taken accordingly. The tractor driver is yet to be identified, and his name will be revealed as soon as possible,” he said.

The ASP said that a clash had erupted between the two groups three days ago, and cases were registered from both sides, but they clashed again on the same issue.

The body of the deceased has been sent for a postmorterm.

BJP slammed Congress over ‘Law and Order’

BJP’s National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla questioned the state’s law and order and slammed Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government. He wrote on social media platform X, “Law & Order in Rajasthan- one more shocker. In Bayana, a man has been brutally crushed to death by a tractor. Will Priyanka Vadra utter anything on this? Say something about Priyanka! In just the last 48 -72 hours- A journalist was attacked in Dausa, Sadhu was killed in Dausa, Youth was stabbed brutally in the neck in Kekdi, a Udaipur minor was raped & kept hostage for 20 days, a Dalit woman gang-raped in Deedwana, Several such instances of murders and women atrocities!! Journalists, monks, women, girls, youth – everyone was attacked.”

BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra, demanded Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi visit Bharatpur before addressing the rally and asked her to show courage and take a stand in the matter.

“A video is viral from Bayana, Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, where a person named Nirpat was murdered by running a tractor over him,” Patra said while addressing a press conference in the national capital.

“Priyanka Vadra is reaching Rajasthan today. I demand her to visit that village before addressing the rally. She should go there and suspend the police officials, District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police and show that she has the courage to take a stand and she is not just for speeches and sloganeering. She has to project that she has a spine. This is a call to Priyanka Vadra. I challenge her to go there first,” Patra added.

The BJP leader further said that it is not just about the murder of one person; this is about the whole of Rajasthan; it is about all Congress-ruled states.

Priyanka Gandhi is in Rajasthan in the run-up to the state assembly polls.

This would be the second visit of Priyanka Gandhi in Rajasthan, going to the polls next month, a week after the Congress leader addressed a gathering in Dausa. With poll dates nearing in Rajasthan, both the BJP and Congress are slugging it out to form their governments.

Rajasthan assembly polls will be held on November 25.

The 200-member house will go to the polls in single-phase. The counting of votes will take place on December 3, coinciding with the other four states: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.
