Kerala: RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat meets Matha Amruthanandamayi Devi and Governor Arif Mohammed Khan

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagavat had a fruitful visit between October 8 to 10 to Kerala. After delivering the lecture, on October 7, as part of the Amruthsatham series, in Kesari Bhavan, Kozhikode, in connection with the centenary celebrations of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Dr Bhagavat went to Valliakkavu, Kollam. There Sarsanghchalak met Matha Amruthanandamayi Devi aka Amma at Vallikkavu Ashram, the head Math of Amruthanandamayi Mission. Mohanji presented the brochures of environment protection and seva (social service) activities Sangh has been carrying out to Amma. He expressed his regret for his inability to participate in Amma’s birthday celebrations on October 3. He sought Amma’s blessings after extending birthday greetings to her.

During the meeting, Amma explained to Sarsanghchalak the seva activities Math has been carrying out in Jammu Kashmir and North East. Both discussed the RSS activities in the spheres of Kudumbaprabodhanam (enlightenment for happy, noble family life), protection of environment and protection of cow.

Swami Thuriyamruthananda Puri, Swami Bhavyamruthananda Puri, Swami Sharanyamrutha Chaithanya, Thapasyamruthananda Puri and Vedamaruthananda Puri received Sarsanghchalak on his arrival at the Ashram at 3.30pm on October 8. Sarsanghchalakji had temple darshan in the ashramam temple. Then Mohanji performed the anayoottu (feeding of elephant), a ritual in the temple. Afterwards Dr.Bhagavat left for the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram around 5.30pm.

In Thiruvananthapuram, Sarsanghchalak paid a visit to Raj Bhavan and met Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. He had dinner with the Governor, along with other Sangh adhidkaris. Then both had a one hour long one-to-one closed door meeting. Obviously the topics they discussed are not available. This is the first ever Sarsanghchalak visit to a Raj Bhavan in the history of Sangh; that is the significance of this visit and meeting.

Sarsanghchalak also had darshan in the historic Sree Padmanabaha Swamy Temple, Thiruvanathapuram. He was received by Temple Executive Officer B. Mahesh. Sarkaryavah Dathathreya Hosabale, former Sarkaryavah Suresh alias Bhayaji Joshi and Kerala Pranth Pracharak S. Sudarsan were with him.

Sarsanghchalak particiapted in the Akhil Bharaitya Choti Sankul biattak of RSS in Thiruvananthapuram on October 9th and 10th. It is a routine organisational biattak attended by Sarsanghchalak, Sarkaryavah, former Sarkaryavah(s) and Sahsarkaryavahs. It is usually held every three months in a chosen place in the country. It was held in Kerala first time.
