The initiative undertaken by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government of simplification in the complex judicial process is paying off, and the report of the UP State Legal Services Authority has also confirmed this fact.

It is noteworthy that to resolve these disputes, efforts are made to reach a settlement at the pre-litigation stage itself and to create a consensus between the two parties. At the same time, special Lok Adalats are also set up for separate disposal of cases related to marital and family disputes. Additionally, Help Desks have been established in civil courts across the state.

According to the report, a total of 635 cases related to family and marital disputes were resolved in the Lok Adalat held on March 12, 2022. Similarly, 849 cases were resolved on May 14, 2022, 936 cases were resolved on August 13, 2022, 1244 cases were resolved on November 12, 2022, 1154 cases were resolved on February 11, 2023, and 814 cases were resolved on May 21, 2023. In this way, a total of 5632 cases have been successfully resolved from May 2022 to May 2023.

The report further states that a special Lok Adalat session was organized on March 17 and 18 this year, on the advice of the Patron-in-Chief and Executive Chairperson of the UP State Legal Services Authority, in view of the increasing cases of bank recovery in the state. This session was successful in resolving a total of 27,782 cases related to bank recoveries and providing swift resolutions.
