Amid the ongoing debate over the growing menace of Love Jihad cases, it seems like there is no end to this organized crime being committed against innocent Hindu women, as a number of cases from more or less every region of the country have been coming to the fore regularly.

In the latest incident, another minor Dalit Hindu girl from Jharkhand fell prey to the misdeed of a youth identified as Golu Ansari (22), who sexually exploited and impregnated her while hiding his true identity. The minor girl, Pooja, a resident of Khallari of Ranchi, committed suicide after being dejected by Ansari; she was said to be in touch with the accused for two years.

As per the complaint filed by the victim’s father, Sonu Ram, the accused, Golu Ansari, a resident of Khallari police station, had befriended the minor while posing as a Hindu and had also married her in a nearby temple. After deceiving the minor, Ansari was also sexually exploiting her upon his will, and when the victim girl pressured him to take her along, Ansari started pushing her to convert and embrace Islam.

Unable to bear the pressure of society and the dejection caused by Ansari, the girl committed suicide on May 31. The incident came to light after the former Chief Minister of the state Babu Lal Marandi, while sharing the details raised questions about the pathetic state of law and order in the mineral-rich state.

“Chief Minister Hemant Soren Ji, I am telling you again and again the roots of Love Jihad in the state is very strong and such conspirators are active from Santhal to all over the state who are targeting Dalit and tribal minors. Such elements are being funded internationally. They are rigid on destroying the identity and social fabric of Jharkhand. The responsibility of the state is on you, do your duty and take strict action against such elements while identifying those who nourish them”, tweeted Marandi.

It’s been reported that after the complaint of the father, the accused, Ansari, has been arrested by the police, and an investigation pertaining to the case is still going on. It’s also been reported that the accused’s nationality is under scanner as a few locals believe that the youth is an outsider.

It is to be noted that a number of cases related to Love Jihad have surfaced in the state lately, after which the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has been accusing the Soren-led Government of failing to protect the girls from organized crimes like such.

The saffron party has also accused the Soren-led state government of going soft on the illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and Rohingyas, who were considered a major force behind the growing menace of Love Jihad in the tribal-dominated state.

In a similar case, a 15-year-old minor Hindu girl was gang raped and thrown in a well by the accused Mohammad Kaif Ansari and Mohammad Ashiq Ansari in Baidaparhi village under the Birni police station of Giridih. It was then reported that the victim went missing from her home during the intervening night on May 28.

On the next morning, she was traced into a nearby well, it’s been reported that the victim girl was immediately rushed to the hospital, but she died on her way. The incident sparked outrage among the locals, who took out a massive march raising slogans against Love Jihad on June 1.

In another similar case, a 14-year-old minor tribal girl from the Santhal community was also found hanging on a tree under Mussaffil Thana limits of Dumka in September last year. It was then reported that the girl was allegedly hanged on the tree after being raped by the accused, Armaan Ansari.

In another incident which rose to the national limelight, a man identified as Mohammad Sharukh poured petrol on a 16-year-old minor Hindu girl from the window and set her on fire when she was asleep. The minor girl was later rushed to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries after battling for life for four days.
