Islamic vigilantes these days are raiding public spaces be it markets, restaurants or even roads to track burqa-clad women with Hindu men. These people impart ‘Deeni’ knowledge to the woman with slurs of ‘Jannat and Jahannum’. They abuse the woman for choosing a Kaffir over Deeni-Muslim.

Well, Islamic intellectuals claim that these are cases of fake propaganda called as ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’ and clerics have accused Hindu organisations, especially Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of providing training to Hindu men for trapping a Muslim woman.

In a recent case from Karnataka, Times Now posted a video of a Burqa-clad woman sitting at a restaurant with a Hindu man. They were having food at the outlet and soon Islamists spotted them, they confronted and later attacked the duo.

The clip is claimed to be of Gopika Chaats in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka. As soon as the vigilantes found out, the woman was hanging out with a Hindu man, they barged in and started abusing the man. Soon after they began thrashing him, the woman went for his rescue but to no avail.

Times now shared a video of the alleged incident with the caption, “Karnataka: A group of Muslim men allegedly harass a woman for an outing with a male friend from the Hindu community in Chikkaballapur

“The woman confronted them & even approached the police but was later forced by her family to issue an apology,” (watch the video here)

Following the incident, the victim had lodged a complaint against the perpetrators. No arrests have been made in the case so far.

This is not the only case, Organiser has been reporting these cases for a long time now.

A similar case was reported from the Kahndwa district of Madhya Pradesh on April 16. Here Muslim vigilantes thrashed a Hindu teacher and a teen boy after they caught them sitting at a cafe with a burqa-clad girl. They asked questions like ‘Ramzan me Namaz padhi thi? and Tumko Musalman kam pad gaye?’.  (read details here)

Another video was shared on  April 27, from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district of Maharashtra. In the video, the Muslim vigilantes hurled abuses for a burqa-clad girl. They dragged her on the streets to snatch her cell phone. By the end of the video they can be heard saying, ‘Gair Muslim ladke ke sath kyu ghum rahi hai?’ (read details here)

On May 13, another such incident of moral policing was reported from Muzaffar Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Following the roadside encounter, the vigilantes followed the Hindu man to his house, they threatened him and ultimately he had to register a police complaint against the perpetrators. (Read details here)

In a recent case from Bijnor,  on May 24 vigilantes harassed a Hindu man and the victim Muslim woman for hanging out together. In the viral clip, vigilantes can be seen stopping a bike after spotting two Burqa-clad women. They question the man, ask him to show his Aadhar card and only allow them to pass after the women assured them that the man driving the bike is their brother. All the accused have been booked by the Uttar Pradesh police. (read details here)

In another case from Moradabad, on May 22, a video of men harassing women in a Burqa found with a Hindu man went viral on social media. In the said video, the accused Islamists can be seen passing comments like “Tujhe mai thane lekar chalunga, apne baap ka number de” (I will take you to the police station, give me your father’s number). He added further, tell me your uncle’s name, call your brother, call your mother. (Read details here)

‘The Bhagwa Love Trap’ propaganda

India has witnessed mobs attacking Hindu religious processions, after Friday prayers. The Friday-frenzy mob have attacked peaceful processions as well, the reason being they have been filled with anger inside the mosque.

The vigilantes we have witnessed on streets protecting their community women are also like this ‘Friday-Frenzy’ mob. In the wake of finding a counter to genuine ‘Love Jihad’ cases where Muslim men trap Hindu women with fake names, for conversions. These clerics in their taqrir coined a term called ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’, then they started marketing it in events and slowly a steadily, an army doing justice on the streets was created.

These men we see on the streets are not there to protect the woman, they are a part of this large propaganda which was limited to speeches till now. We have seen clips where these vigilantes have even thrashed a woman or abused her on camera.

Notably, the Spokesperson of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Sajjad Nomani has been the forerunner in peddling lies and spreading venom through his speeches.  (watch his videos spreading propaganda here, here, here and here)

In one of his videos, he was heard saying, “8 lakh Muslim women have turned infidel and left Islam after meeting their Hindu partners. RSS has created a team of Hindu youths who are trained in Islamic teachings and Urdu…They are then instructed to lure Muslim women into a love trap.”

He also claimed that these men are provided with 2.5 Lakh rupees cheque, a flat and a job. “Several Hindu youths are fixated on this mission but we are sleeping…Billions of funds have been allocated to take away our Faith,” he alleged.

“We send our daughters to schools and colleges but we do not know if they are learning science and maths or vulgarity and apostasy there,” he further claimed.

The Islamic cleric called upon the parents and brothers of Muslim girls to ‘follow them’ and see when they take out their burqa and put it inside their purses. “Our Faith is being robbed…How will we show our face to the Prophet on the day of Judgment?” he continued to peddle hysteria.

“As per my estimates, at least 5000 girls have run away with Hindus, married them and changed their religion to Hinduism. And these are the children of those people, who are considered ‘religious’ in their neighbourhoods,” he was heard claiming in another video.

A few weeks ago, an organisation named ‘Ehsaas Foundation’ took out a street rally in Nagpur holding banners of ‘save Muslim girls’ and ‘bhagwa love trap’. The banners had images of burqa-clad women carrying a copy of Quran. The accompanying text said, “Save daughters from becoming apostates”.

Last month a fake letter was shared on social media on the RSS letterhead with tips to Hindu men on how to trap Muslim women. The letter mentioned points in the list, it also shared details of a 15-day training camp. Later, the letter turned out to be fake. (read details here)

Among those who circulated the letter was a Qatar-based journalist whose Twitter profile says he works for Qatar government-owned Al Jazeera and Twitter accounts describe themselves as supporters of Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

A baseless counter to ‘Love Jihad’

With stringent laws in place, the Hindu activists have been in action and they have saved a lot of girls. In their encounters, the women responded and there are records of it that the woman had no idea of the man being Muslim. Be it a friendship or relationship it has always started with a fake name and ends with forced conversion.

On the other hand, in these videos with ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’ captions the woman can be seen telling the vigilantes that the Hindu men are either their brothers, friends, neighbours or classmates only. These girls knew the actual names of the guys and none of them are forced to convert.

This moral policing is a desperate attempt to counter the genuine Love Jihad cases and they have failed miserably.
