Cash reward of 10 lakhs against radical Khalistani extremist Kashmir Singh: NIA

On May 22, 2023, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh against the Khalistani extremist Kashmir Singh Galwaddi alias Balbir Singh.

He has been accused of promoting terrorist activities in various parts of the country. He is also wanted in a case registered by the federal agency under sections 120-B, 121-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 17, 18-B, and 38 of the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act).

According to a statement from an NIA official, the “NIA has declared a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh against the above-mentioned accused, Kashmir Singh Galwaddi alias Balbir Singh. If any person has any information of importance on the above-mentioned accused. Leading to his arrest or apprehension, the information may be shared with the probe agency.”

The federal probe agency said the informer’s identity shall be kept secret.

Kashmir Singh is also accused of breaking a jail in Nabha, Punjab. He is a Khalistani radical extremist whom the NIA has been trying to nab for a long time.

In 2016, Kashmir Singh and 20 other criminals escaped from the Nabha Jail after attacking the prison authorities. He is also involved in an attack on a Punjabi Hindu leader in Gurdaspur, Punjab 2013.
