Bihar: Police arrested Naimullah Khan and Raees-ul Khan for attacking Hindus over a small dispute

Viral video from Bihar's Kaimur shows Hindus being attacked by Islamist mob. The police registered a complaint against 17 named accused and have arrested two of them so far

Clashes erupted in Bihar’s Bhabua (Kaimur) district over alleged cattle theft on May 2. The Hindus sustained severe injuries after the attack. A video from the site is circulated on the internet. The police confirmed that a complaint has been registered and two accused have been arrested so far.

Video of an alleged Hindu-Muslim clash was shared widely on the internet by the Bihar Tak channel. In the said clip, a girl who is recording the video can be heard crying for help. She alleges that Muslims living in the area have made their life a living hell. They attack Hindus for no reason. Towards the end of the video, she shows how the mob attacks her brother.

The attacks belong to the minority community and can be seen in the video, are very well equipped with sticks. The scuffle broke out after a calf trespassed their field.

After the scuffle, Ramashankar Paswan reached the SC-ST police station Bhabua and named as many as 17 Islamists in the complaint. A First Information Report (FIR number–10/2023) was registered in this case on May 2.

Organiser called up the concerned police station and the Investigating Officer of the case, Awadhesh Arun said that two of the accused out of 17 named in the FIR have been arrested by the police.

The names of the arrested accused are Naimullah Khan and Raees-ul Khan. The teams are looking for the other names accused in the FIR.

The Kaimur police also informed about the arrest of the accused from their official Twitter account. The situation is now under control, says the post.

Arun added these accused have been booked under IPC sections 147 (rioting), 148 (armed with deadly weapons), 149 (unlawful assembly), 341 (wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causes hurt), 307 (attempt to murder), 504 (intentionally insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation), and sections 3(1) (8) (h) and 3(2)(v) of the ST-SC  Act.
