New Delhi: Six persons have been detained, and more than 100 FIRs have been filed in relation with objectionable posters that were posted throughout the National Capital, including those with derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Delhi Police has said that out of the 100 FIRs registered so far, 36 FIRs have been done regarding PM Narendra Modi’s poster while the rest of the FIRs are in connection with other posters.

As per the allegations, “Modi Hatao Desh Bachao” posters could be seen in various areas of Delhi. Special CP Deependra Pathak told ANI that the Delhi Police has registered over 100 FIRs while six people have been arrested for objectionable posters, including those against PM Narendra Modi, across the city.

However, the posters did not mention the printing press or the publisher. The Delhi Police swung into action and started an investigation into the matter.

The police said the FIR had been registered in different districts across the city under sections of the Printing Press Act and Defacement of Property Act.

A van was also stopped as soon as it departed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office, according to the Special CP. Few posters were seized, and arrests were made.

Further investigation is underway in the case.
