BJP IT cell Chief Amit Malviya sought to point out the speed with which Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Delhi Government have acted lately against former deputy CM Manish Sisodia.

“Kejriwal had promised to look after Manish Sisodia and his family. But he was removed as Minister almost immediately, while Satyendar Jain was retained as Minister for nine months when he was in jail. Now, Sisodia has been asked to vacate the bungalow so that it can be allotted to Atishi,” Malviya tweeted.

In fact, the former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s family has been given only five days to vacate the official bungalow as his Mathura Road residence.

The bungalow has been allotted to the newly-sworn in Delhi Minister, Atishi, who is now the Minister in charge of Education, PWD, Culture and Tourism.

The Public Works Department (PWD), in an order, said: “The Competent Authority is pleased to offer the Bungalow No. AB-17, Mathura Road, to Atishi, Minister in the Delhi Government.”

The PWD order asked the occupants to vacate it on or before March 21.

According to the order, the directions were issued in line with provisions of the Delhi Administration Allotment of Government Residences (General Pool) Rules, 1977, that govern such allotments against “the invocation of penal provisions under the rules” if not vacated.

“Where the allottee is already in occupation of any house earlier allotted, the allottee will have to vacate the house within 15 days after taking possession of the new house allotted in lieu of the previous house. The allottee shall also be required to submit a Clearance Certificate from the DDO concerned for recovery of license fee/ water charges relating to the accommodation earlier allotted,” the order read.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh has tried to make light of the matter and said: “Atishi is a Minister and the bungalow has been allotted in her name, what is wrong with it? Manish Sisodia is our brother, his family is our family, we will take care”.

The court in Delhi has extended jailed AAP leader Manish Sisodia’s Enforcement Directorate remand by five more days. He was held on the alleged liquor policy case. The ED told the court that crucial information had come up during Manish Sisodia’s custody, and he had to be confronted with other accused persons.

It said voluminous data from Manish Sisodia’s email and mobile is also being forensically analysed.

Manish Sisodia was a key participant in the Anna Hazare-led movement against the corruption of 2011. Manish Sisodia’s friendship with Kejriwal long back when they founded a NGO named Parivartan. Manish Sisodia was one of the key founding members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
