NIA nabbed a wanted Maoist Ranju from Odisha’a Swabhiman Anchal region

In a swift operation in the Malkangiri of Odisha, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) nabbed a wanted Maoist on January 24, confirmed sources.

As per the reports the NIA has nabbed a dreaded Maoist Ranju Khila alias Chanti from insurgency-hit Swabhiman Anchal region of the Odisha, Chanti was involved in 2012 ambush on Border Security Force (BSF) personnels in which 4 jawans of BSF were martyred.

Chanti was earlier arrested in 2013 after which he was lodged in the prison, he was granted bail in 2018 and reported to be absconding after that.

It’s been learnt that the NIA had got some intel about his presence in the Swabhiman Anchal area from where he was nabbed in the morning hours of January 24.

Earlier NIA had also put-up posters of him, the Agency had also declared a cash reward of Rs 3 lakh on the wanted Maoist of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist).

Sub-inspector injured in IED blast

In another Maoist related news, a sub inspector of CRPF has been gravely injured in an IED blast by the Maoist in the early hours of January 25.

It’s been reported that a joint team of CRPF and Jharkhand police were out on a combing operation in the Kolhan forest range when the Maoist triggered the IEd, the said explosion took place between Jojohatu and Anjedbaha under Mussafil police station limits of Chaibasa.

The injured personnel has been identified as sub inspector Isaar Ali of battalion no 197 of CRPF, he has been airlifted to the state capital Ranchi and said to be stable.

Search operation near the vicinity of the site has been intensified and forces have also recovered a Pipe bomb near the site of the explosion which has been successfully diffused by the BDU.

It should be noted that for the last three weeks, security forces have been conducting regular combing operations in the Kolhan forest range area in which a total of 11 personnel have been injured in explosions triggered by the Maoists.

It is to be noted that these search operations have been intensified after the surrender of 8 members of the special assassination group (SAG) of the outlawed CPI-M in the first week of January, all of them surrendered are said to be working under the direct command of Infamous Misir Besra a member of the central committee of the proscribed CPI-M.
