A social media user Haripal Tanwar, who has posted a video in which a few people are seen burning pages, has alleged that the pages of Bhagvat Gita were burnt. On December 25, advocates Amrit Dante, Bhant Kashyap, and their associates of Samta Sainik Dal organised a conversion programme to initiate Hindus to Buddhism. The event was organised at Bhakasar in district Barmer, Rajasthan.

Members of the Hindu community have said that the anti-social elements are trying to create a law-and-order problem in the region.
