On December 25, advocates Amrit Dante, Bhant Kashyap, and their associates of Samta Sainik Dal organised a conversion programme to initiate Hindus to Buddhism. The event was organised at Bhakasar in district Barmer, Rajasthan.

Members of the Hindu community have said that the anti-social elements are trying to create a law-and-order problem in the region.
