He elucidated that Parishat, for the past 57 years, has been continuously working towards establishing Bharatiya values and culture in the society. Based on the needs of social organizations has expanded its service. It started with literary activities, after that in the field of service, then education, and now entering the healthcare arena to fulfil the requirement of society. Rashtrotthana Parishat believes in being clear about its purpose, excellent in the method of work, precision in execution, and efficiency in the profession. He further stated the need for this hospital was realized during the covid second wave, and with the support of well-wishers and conscious aid, he helped set up the hospital. He further underscored Ma. Cha. Jayadev’s life and his contribution to society always inspire the Parishat.
P. Kumar, President of Rashtrotthana Parishat, stated the resolve of setting up this hospital. Advancements in science and technology have resulted in significant improvements in health in society. However, these advancements have also resulted in limited access to such facilities for common citizens. Hence, providing high-quality healthcare facilities with affordable features to the community is necessary. He described that Parishat is exploring possible options to reach several vasatis for providing health care assistance in mobile mode by a programme clinic on wheels. Privatization and commercialization of the healthcare sector have increased the apprehensions of common men to access medical services. In such a scenario, Parishat, a not-for-profit organization, has envisioned providing service-oriented healthcare facilities. This will be a hospital with the notion of integrated medical care. Along with allopathy, different medicine systems like Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Yoga, Naturopathy etc., will be provided to take care of health holistically, and the choice of patients will be understood.
On occasion, Sudhir Pai, Chairman of Governing Board of Rasthrotthana Hospital, narrated the hospital’s vision as EPIQ. Explaining EPIQ as Economical, Prevention focused, Integrated Medicine by bringing various medicinal practices under a single roof, and Quality Care is the four main pillars to provide the sustainable medical outcome. Further, he enunciated quality care comprised of good infrastructure, quality equipment and skilful practitioners, which are the features of Rasthrotthana Hospital. A hospital is designed to provide a seamless and hassle-free processes to ensure stress-free treatment. It is important for the Parishat and hospital to make patients come here without fear and prejudice of affordability.
Dr Sandhya explained the principle of integrative medicine and research being adopted by the hospital. The focus is on prevention and integrated disease management as a multi-speciality and tertiary care hospital. Integrated health care combines the best practices of different medicine systems to treat patients based on their personalized needs and medical conditions. Different medicine systems concurring with each other would result in better treatment of patients. The hospital would focus on all three preventions, i.e. primary, secondary and tertiary prevention, as part of prevention programmes.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Devi Prasad Shetty applauded Rashtrottthana Parishat for this project, as it is challenging to set up hospitals. He predicted that within five to seven years, India would be the first country in the world to dissociate health from affluence. He celebrated the role of India in providing doctors and nurses to the world. He quoted the Harvard Medical School’s study, which acknowledged Americans treated by Indian Expat doctors had recovered well compared to Americans treated by American doctors. He commended the Ayushman Bharat health scheme for ensuring health care for poor citizens of the nation. He stated Insurance Regulatory and Development authorities are working with Government to ensure Ayushman Bharat type of assistance to the 200 to 300 million working-class population. He believed India, a fast-paced developing country that has defied lesser projections and achieved significant feats in multiple domains, would soon dissociate health from affluence.
Sudha Murthy recalling her 35-year connection with Rashtrotthana Parishat, remembered Vidyananda Shenoy, Prakash Kamat, and Nagabhushan as gems and stalwarts who were part of the Parishat. She recollected establishing thousands of libraries and her preference for Bharata Bharati Books published by Rasthrotthana Parishat in those libraries due to their values. She was talking about her association with Ma. Cha. Jayadeva described him as a dignified and eternal personality; she recalled being called Akka (sister) by him. Recalling the commendable work of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Rashtrotthana Parishat during Tsunami, she recognized no others had served the society like them. She announced the donation of a vehicle for the clinic on wheels. She appealed to all, particularly women, to sacrifice the purchase of a saree and help for the cause of health and needy patients. This will help needy patients.
In his address, Dattatreya Hosabale, Sarkaryavah of RSS, stated this is the occasion of dedicating the hospital for the good of the society in the name of Ma Cha Jayadev, a personality who committed selflessly to the cause of society and nation. He observed the guests on the dais were such personalities who were continually committed to the wellness, health, and betterment of society and the country; the inaugural ceremony is of Rashtrotthana Parishat, and this blend is unforgettable. He emphasized the health of society is not only based on physical health but also mental, spiritual, and cultural, and such health is taken care of by eminent personalities like Sudha Murthy and HH Swamiji. Applauding the efforts of Rashtrotthana Parishat in dedicated efforts to serve the society for 57 years, noted the significant contribution Jayadev being the architect of Rashtrotthana Parishat who stood firmly behind the Parishat. Jayadev was Karyakarta of RSS, and under the direction of Sangh, he worked in the Rashtrotthana Parishat as the founder and artist of the institution. He built this institution first time without any prior experience. He trained in management to establish and grow the institutions through experience, learning and introspection. He was not only limited to developing the institution, but also, he developed such personalities to manage such institutions for the need of society.
He was recalling Ma. Cha. Jayadev’s discipline, even during prison at the time of emergency and his boldness of putting himself behind but ambition in front. However, Sangh has never had a tradition of an embodiment of any individual, this memorial hospital in the name of Ma. Cha. Jayadev is an exception due to his immense contribution to society. He was a personality beyond ideologies and politics. Dattatreya Hosabale sensed hospitals are for the purpose of getting on with life and getting back to life. A nation that has given the call of Sarve Sandhu Niramaya to the world can be a model by creating a healthy society. He said providing affordable quality health care and creating a healthy society is our shared duty. He appealed to everyone to participate in hospital-related services and dedicate themselves to the community.
HH Sri Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji delivered his speech of blessings. He started by reminiscing about his close association with Ma. Cha. Jayadev was termed the life of Jayadev as a patriot with simplicity who spent his whole life for the cause of the nation and society. He meditated on Jayadev’s lecture in Mysuru for an hour with an audience of over lakh people, which had absolute silence throughout the session representing Jayadev’s influencing personality. Jayadev was a key stalwart of Rashtrotthana Parishat and always thought of teaching patriotism among the youth. Swamiji pointed to Jayadev being aware that every single book’s publication speaks of his attention to detail in the works of parishat. Jayadev, during his stay in a hospital, declined to receive personal help offered by his friends; as an individual belonging only to Parishat, he did not take any such assistance. Mahaswamiji called for medical professionals to be open-minded about applying a combination of different medical systems for the wellness of patients. He commended the infrastructure of the hospital team of highly acclaimed medical professionals. He supported Dr Devi Shetty’s remarks on extending and supporting the affordable medical insurance programme for the middle class.
