Kerala: A group of Leftists Insulted Srimad Bhagavata Purana and Thirukkural during Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Union Christian College, Aluva, Kerala.

The college conducted an Art Exhibition as a part of its Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at the college campus. In the exhibition, some leftist propagandist groups installed an art insulting Srimad Bhagavata Purana and Thirukkural.

A chair was placed above the Hindu Puranas and sacred scriptures, and above the chair, they placed a copy of the Indian Constitution with a picture of Dr Ambedkar on it. Interestingly, the religious books of religions other than the Hindu were conspicuously absent in the ‘installation’.

“Whatever be the intention of the art installation; are these types of evil narratives necessary to show the relevance of the Indian Constitution? Why are there no religious holy books of Muslims or Christians placed along with Hindu holy books?” asked a netizen on Facebook.

A mega exhibition covering the achievements of the university in various sectors was held as part of the centenary of Union Christian (UC) College, Aluva, from November 7 to 12. The programmes were organised on the occasion of the 100 years of the institution, which was set up in 1921.

Meanwhile, the UC college, in a statement, said that it took cognizance of the incident and sought clarification from the students.
