Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh held a Video Conference with Senior Defence Minister of Malaysia, YB Dato ‘Seri HishammuddinTun Hussein on June 27, 2022. A wide range of issues concerning bilateral, regional and defence industrial cooperation were discussed during the meeting. Both Ministers expressed the intent to further boost the already strong India-Malaysia Defence cooperation. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted the areas in which Indian Defence industries could assist Malaysia. He suggested a visit of senior officers from Malaysia to India to get a first-hand experience of the facilities and products of Indian Defence industry. The Malaysian Senior Defence Minister expressed the need for inducting women personnel in peace keeping missions.
IAF PARTICIPATES IN TACTICAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME WITH EGYPTIAN AIR FORCE
IAF is participating in Tactical Leadership Programme at Egyptian Air Force Weapon School from June 24 to July 24, 2022 in Egypt with three Su-30MKI aircraft, two C-17 aircraft and 57 IAF personnel. It is a unique exercise with Air assets in a Large Force Engagement environment, simulating various conflict scenarios. The exercise is aimed at enhancing defence cooperation between the two countries and exchange of best practices.
IAF CONDUCTS CAPSTONE SEMINAR FOR THE FIRST ‘WARFARE & AEROSPACE STRATEGY PROGRAM’
On June 24, 2022, the IAF conducted the Capstone Seminar in New Delhi, marking the culmination of the first Warfare & Aerospace Strategy Program (WASP). Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff, delivered the keynote address on the occasion. During his address, the CAS enumerated that the aim of WASP is to generate strategic thought and understanding amongst IAF officers. He brought out that the program was designed to briefly expose the participants to key disciplines of a nation’s Comprehensive National Power, which will enable them to understand the whole-of-government approach and generate independent opinions. He stressed upon the need to reassess the IAF’s strategic priorities and to realign actions to ensure that the service doesn’t get left behind. The Air Chief congratulated the participants and urged them convert the knowledge gained into workable strategies, and to remember that their thoughts would channel not only air power related strategies but also contribute in making coherent military and national strategies.
