It’s now clear that Maharashtra CM Udhav Thackrey is going to resign today at noon after the cabinet meeting and this last cabinet meeting would request a dissolution of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha.

After two third of ShivSena MLA’s breakaway in a group led by Eknath Shinde yesterday, Maharashtra is witnessing high political drama.

All efforts by CM Thackrey to do a compromise and get a breakaway section of MLAs back to his vamp went futile. Even intervention by his wife Rashmi was of no use.

MLAs led by Eknath Shinde are adamant about going with BJP for government formation citing the Hindutva issue. They are saying Thakreys have compromised the Hindutva issue to go with NCP and Congress and are now miles away from it. Balasaheb Thakrey’s values.

Sanjay Raut has tweeted that Maharashtra is heading towards the dissolution of Vidhan Sabha, indicating that there would be fresh assembly elections in the offing. BJP MLA and staunch Sena opponent Nitesh Rane immediately countered Sanjay Raut, also on Twitter, saying Raut is trying to instigate fear in MLAs. He made it clear that there would be a new government soon in Maharashtra and also said there would not be fresh assembly elections citing the constitutional provisions.
