Under the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan, criminal cases are not being taken in the name of mitigation. Recently, a minor boy (17) was raped in a mosque in Jaipur. The victim had gone to a mosque for Dini (Islamic education) training during Ramadan, where Hafiz Sarfaraz raped him.

According to the local media, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Subhash Chowk police station. The victim’s father registered a rape case at the Subhash Chowk police station.

According to the complaint received by the police, the victim alleged that he was going to a mosque for religious education during the month of Ramadan. One day seeing the opportunity, Hafiz Sarfaraz gave him a glass of sharbat. He later raped him while he was unconscious.

As soon as he regained consciousness, the victim came to know that he had been raped. In addition, the accused threatened to kill him if he opened his mouth in this regard. According to the police complaint, the victim was raped multiple times by Hafiz.

It is noteworthy that similar incidents have taken place in Rajasthan in the past. Recently, a private ambulance assistant raped a woman who came for treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Ajmer. Not only this, the son of Rajasthan government minister Dr Mahesh Joshi is also facing rape charges. Similarly, a Muslim youth, Nisar Khan, raped a minor (14) at a government hospital in May last year.
