According to the police, seven to eight persons attacked the VHP functionary when Saharan stopped them from molesting girls near the Ramdev temple of Nohar on Wednesday evening. The police have detained two accused, namely Adris and Amin.
Speaking to ANI on the Hanumangarh attack, VHP leader Surendra Jain said, “What was his fault? Muslim youths were molesting a woman. He went to stop them, but they attacked him. This shows how much they hate Hindus. They are not scared of the law.” Lambasting the Congress administration over the law and order situation, Jain stated, “Rajasthan government is standing with them and they will safeguard them. This is not acceptable. The Rajasthan government should stop the appeasement politics.”
After the group clash, the VHP workers blocked the road in Nohar. Hanumangarh District Collector, Nathmal said that after the clash in Nohar town, the internet services have been suspended in Nohar, Bhadra and Rawatsar towns of Hanumangarh district to maintain peace and law and order.
The DC further said that the police have registered a complaint against two known and five unknown persons following the complaint of the VHP leader.

Tension gripped Gehlot’s hometown, Jodhpur, hours before Eid on Tuesday, prompting the authorities to suspend mobile internet services and impose a curfew in 10 police station areas of the city. There was agitation over putting up religious flags on the Jalori gate circle in Jodhpur, which led to stone-pelting in which five policemen were injured.
In another incident, a 22-year-old Hindu youth was stabbed to death by the members of another community in the Kotwali Police Station area of Bhilwara on Tuesday night.
In Karauli, violence broke out after the stone-pelting incident took place at a religious procession in April this year, while a 300-year-old temple was demolished using a bulldozer in Alwar’s Rajgarh. (With inputs from ANI)
